Good point doobie.
However, I should have said phat ass and not fat ass. A phat ass is one that is in shape but thick.
Look at some black porn and it will probably be evident...but for that matter so is white porn.
Another thing too is that I know of no black woman who ate a ton to get that phat ass. One can't direct where the "phat" goes (unless it's surgery).
Either way, what I said in no way perpetuates black women to eat more. Do I glamorize it? Damn skippy. I do the same when a white woman has a phat ass (even though it's not as often).
Agreed, a phat ass is not a fat ass!

The thing about the support sites is that as much as everyone wants to recover, everyone has a distorted image of what's beautiful, so yeah they think someone underweight is beautiful, but at the same time they dont want to think that.
They think that by telling the girls that the are beautiful and by reassuring them, it will stop them from losing more weight.
Andi, the girl who's pictures you've been posting has been in recovery multiple times, but eating disorders are a hard thing to get over. She is currently in recovery now. TRYING desperately to get over a disease which has taken over her life.
As a recovered anorexic I know how hard it is to get over, even now I still have a skewed perception of myself. I would never consider myself as beautiful, although people say that.
Most people who suffer from eating disorders are survivors of abuse. They find it's a way of coping for them. It's a mental disorder WHICH CANNOT BE HELPED.
It is also a disorder that isn't very understood, most hospitals will feed a patient to normal weight and then send them on their way but never treat the underlying problems. Recovery takes YEARS of phsychiatric help, alongside medication. It is a 24hour task for most people.
People do not "choose" to be anorexic or bulimic, despite what some of you morons think.
Laugh at them all you like, just make sure you're informed about what you're laughing at.
IT IS NOT A VANITY THING. It comes from low self esteem and is a control issue.
Seriously, some of you are far more fucked up than any of those girls on the site. It's like laughing at someone with cancer. It's sick
And for those who went to the site...there are very FEW girls there as underweight as Andi, most are at a normal weight range.
Tbh, a person stops as a result of molestation or physical abuse, to me doesn't fall in the category.
There are a number of things people do to like stop talking, over eat, not eat, turn violent, blahblahblah.
I laugh 'cause these folks we see glorify it.
I laugh when you were simply taunted about your weight, you yakking all your food and simply stop eating. Gotta go.

Fuck off, Busy. If a person stops eating because of that then they are just as bulimic/anorexic as the next person.
You said bulimics were fucking stupid in direct reply to me relating something that had happened to a girl I went out with. She wasn't yakking up her food because she wanted to be thinner - it was because she felt disgusted about stuff that had happened to her when she was younger.
Sure, you're not to know that but then because you don't - you think maybe you could keep your uninformed, dumbass blanket statements to yourself.
Cheers.

so if there was a support group for cancer patients and they posted their progress pics...what ur going to say their fucked up too for gloryfying cancer! god do you even make use of 0.00000001% of that lump of cells called your brain!!

Re: check out this ANOREXIA forum.
I think anyone suffering from any psychological disorder should be treated with sensitivity and consideration.
However, there is also a great need for humour even in these sort of situations. Without humour, all that is left is either attack or a patronising pat on the head...neither of which is helpful to the sufferer.
And yes, I am talking from experience...not me, but someone close to me...they assure me that the odd piss take helps to see the funny side of the ridiculous, but that you have to know where to draw the line.
btw...just a little warning....anyone found to be posting tub girl on here will be banned...no second chances.

Oh jeez STFU. I'm mostly talking about anorexia. Bulimics at least have some sort of logic to their "disorder". I said gotta go 'cause I couldn't finish. The bottom line is someone may do many different things due to trauma.
It's amazing that it's still culturally based yet it's a disorder. I disagree 'cause I see the shit to a lesser degree in women that already skinny but think they slim down (these folks are healthy though). You remove the glorification of the "model look" and anorexia is eliminated.
It may be trauma that triggers it like molestation or simply someone calling a woman fat but it's still laughable for the person to latch on to looking like a skeleton and thinking "I look great".
I actually I was initially talking about anorexia (hence the topic) then you generalized anorexia and bulimia together ('cause they involved eating) and then I touched on bulimia.

America?   Wtf does it have to do with America Peerzy?
You really lowered yourself comparing cancer to anorexia.
Most cancers don't involve choice by the "victim".
Some of them don't post pics for glory but it damn sure is for attention. Some of them are anorexics for attention too. Keep feeding it.
This reminds me of the disorder that the mother kept having babies and killing them for attention. 3 times I think. She liked the attention of being pregnant, showing the child off, and the funeral attention.
Btw I'm no righteous assy American. I'm just as fucked up as...well...you are. I just have a brain though. This subject is funny considering what I'm going through right now. You all are a big help.

Like I said before, small forums like FF are dying out, they can pretty much keep going without moderation a lot of the time. One of the mods is in IP and isnt allowed a computer, one doesnt have her own at the moment and im not sure about the other.

Re: check out this ANOREXIA forum.
Eating disorders are a form of mental illness and not something the sufferer can help once the disorder has taken hold. Mental illness is as valid as physical illness but is very much misunderstood. I have suffered long periods of depression in the past and although many people were supportive, some people I had to tell thought it was something I could snap out of. It took a long time, medication, therapy and a lot of hard work to recover. Being told to go and have a nice cup of tea or an early night and I'd feel better was staggeringly insensitive considering the hell I was going through. Its the same for those who have eating disorders.
Its not easy to recover from an eating disorder and you cant tell an asthmatic to "just stop wheezing and breath" just as you cant tell a sufferer of an eating disorder to "just start eating/stop purging"
Busyman and those who have expressed similar thoughts, it is clear you are an unsympathetic judgemental and coldhearted person who has no sense of empathy for other peoples suffering which is weird since it is clear you have mental issues yourself.

I tell what's weird, you comparing an asthmatic to an anorexic.
I'm going through my own little shit now and have gone through worse (completely different category then now) when I thought I was going to have a kid and my ex was in a car accident and we broke up (I was going to marry her). I did however, snap out of it. I cryed alone without attention seeking until I cryed myself out. I even bitch up playing basketball...and that's bad when you have to leave the court so fellas don't see you losin' it.
It changed me...for the better. I probably am a little colder.
The thing is anorexics locked specifically on not eating which is directly related to being vain and oversensitive.

Re: check out this ANOREXIA forum.
I wasn't directly comparing asthma to anorexia you moron, I was saying people with mental illnesses should be treated with as much compassion and sympathy as those with physical illnesses, as mental illness is just as debilitating and often very much, as you have proven, misunderstood.
Sufferers of eating disorders are not the same as vain attention-seeking people. Vain people know they are attractive and play on it, being overly concerned with maintaining their looks. Sufferers of ED generally have a poor body image and struggle with feelings of disgust and inadequacy, which are symptoms of the mental illness they are suffering from.
I am sorry you are having a hard time but you not reacting well to tragedies and traumas in your life is not the same as suffering from mental illness. Everbody suffers my friend. It doesnt mean you cant show sympathy for your fellow humans even if you do not understand what they are going through. Isnt it enough to know someone is hurting to have some compassion for them?
"Changed you for the better, probably a little colder" How is colder better if you can't show compassion and understanding.

Re: check out this ANOREXIA forum.
Also, if you think that Anorexia is about vanity...Take a look at this...
This is a good friend of mine, and she's so "vain" that she cuts herself to pieces. Yeah that's right she wants to be "attractive" SO BAD that she makes the task more difficult by scarring herself.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...89/Bilde81.jpg
Oh look here another example...
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...i89/Bilde3.jpg
Yeah it's all about beauty... Just look at how beautiful this girl is... She loves the fact that she's dying, that her hair is falling out, that she has to shave her body because she's covered in lanugo. Yeah she's so pretty, her teeth and nails are rotting away because they are constantly exposed to stomach bile.
WHO THE FUCK WOULDNT WANT THAT

Re: check out this ANOREXIA forum.
Before you say that self-harm is attention seeking, Busyman, I would like to point out that for some people its a way of releasing unbearable internal pain and punishing youself because you feel worthless and not deserving of anything else. Also, the absence of feeling and numbness sometimes experienced by those suffering from mental illness can be very distressing and inflicting physical pain on oneself can remind you that you are real.
Its probably unfair to target Busyman when he hasn't commented on this yet, but he's annoyed me.

That fucking site is sick. It even has a dumbass motto that spouts words of encouragement. The people on the site are indeed sick are folks giving them therapy for what their underlying problem is or the anorexia?

No shit. I said that back in post 84.
the bottom line is that these people have reacted in a certain way to their trauma, mental illness has resulted and they
don't deserve ridicule.
Why 'cause they aren't hurting others? I'd give ridicule to a person that kills themself as a person that kills others. I think both are morons.
