In the U.S. most people don't have a choice of an ISP because companies like Comcast are sanctioned by the government to be a monopoly. Not every city/county has the same ISP.

which blows because by granting just small monopolies, they are defeating the purpose of the free market system and leaving most of us with shitty internet

10mbit/1mbit for 40$ a month.

I've also paid 30$ a month for 1.5mbit/386kbit,
before that 70$ a month for 512kbit/256kbit (was limited for too much bandwidth HA),
before that 55$ a month 56k dial-up & extra line,
before that 10cents a minute long distance 33.3k AOL $$

In my city, the fastest we can get without paying for T1 is 8mbit/512kb @ $45/month :angry:
Honestly though, 8mbit down is fine for me but 512kb up is awful when I know ppl paying the same price for a much better connection.

In SA we pay about $50 for 1gb cap on wireless broadband..
And I did a speedtest - 401kbps down & 306kbps up.

So how is that?

I wanted to upgrade my cap to 10gb...but
that will cost me around $300........HELP..... :(

45.99 a month in Canada for Rogers with 9 megabits down and .8 megabits up, they have a 100g cap but iv'e never had problems with it yet
