the speeds are not good (for me atleast), but you can find a lot of rare things ..
well with the speeds, if you let it run 24 hours you usually get as much as you give
if files are rare you can't give then yeah it might also be slow but at least it's available at all
eMule is indeed slower than BT, but on the other hand if using it properly, you cann still get decent speeds. Just depends on the amount of sources you have.
The servers nowadays suck and KAD is the way to go.
eMule still rocks when it comes to finding rare stuff.
emule is fast and you can use limit of connection but speed is not in one files.you must add a lot of files for maximum speed...
emule is like paradise, you can find everthing old or new there.
emule and bittorrent match their weak sides but for me bittorent is best
I always add 20 files or more, sometimes I add 50 files and the speed significantly increases coming to my maximum capacity (5 MB). I can not complain about the speed of eMule. I think that most who complain about eMule just put one file to download with low id (big mistake), eMule is not Bittorrent (fortunately)
If I want to download 50 files with bittorrent I must to download 2 or 3 files in once a time and with eMule I can download those 50 files simultaneously with lees speed each file, but in the global, I get those 50 files more faster with eMule, so eMule is better.
yeah it sucks. i joined ED a few years ago paid $20.00 for it. very slow speeds. i emailed them and told them i would like my money back like they said i could have if not satisfied. got the runaround about how it was up to someone else who they didnt even have an email addy for. lol
wow this thread is still alive? geez, i didn't expect that :P
For me Bittorent is the best way to download anything if you want some what is not on trackers then use DC++ and even if that what is looking for cant find there then i use eMule where you can find a lot of rare things ... :)
I love eMule, I love it to bits. (whoops, unintended pun )
Once you know how to use it properly, and understand how it works, it's actually quite fast in the end. It's more of a "background" thing than torrents.
But where's the first place I search when I need something? eMule. It's a completely different way of file-sharing to torrent, I use both as much as each other. But eMule is indispensable, still the place with the most content. And that alone makes me want to share unique stuff on there, and I do. I find that VERY satisfying.
eMule Sucks!!
I think eMule is a good third choice.
emule and edonkey suck bowls, downloads takes ages to start regardless of finishing them.
ill have a try at DC++, never used it.Quote:

emule is not what it used to be, buy you can still find there rare stuff
beside bittorrents i used only dc++ so don`t think emule is my option
I've almost abandoned emule since discovering private torrrent trackers. But still it is the last chance for rare stuff.
Somehow I feel BT is a way more safe thing.
its possible to find so many things on emule, as compared to bit torrent, yeah you have to be patient with speeds but in the end its worth it.
eMule is great for finding ultra rare, small-weight stuff, such as MP3 singles that you can't find anywhere. Aside from that, it's pretty bad.
emule sucks very hard,Utorrent rulz :)
Utorrent is a joke, they sold the code for money. eMule is free, open source and the real file sharing.:P
Emule only comes handy if you are looking for rare content. It has so many fake files and speeds are really crap.
Correct, BitTorrent is a file distribution system using peer-to-peer.
eMule/eD2k is a global, decentralized P2P mesh w/ search etc.
You can get pretty good speeds, but only if you let it work for many hours, ideally 24/7, and many files at once is also a good idea.
Well i used to use it...it gave me a lot when i first started with file sharing...so i wont say anything against eMule...when you learn how to use it is not that bad
When you learned how to use BitTorrent, and if you have a lot of the good trackers well....
^^ Very good point. Anyone with good private torrent sites like tl, revtt, bitme, what/waffles etc wouldn't bother using emule/kazaa/bearshare.
eMule has lost what it was a long time ago IMO. It used to have more rare material. Nowadays, with the advent of the closing of most ed2k mirror sites, like ShareReactor, then Pleasuredome101, things have pretty much got lost. ShareTheFiles and a few other sites seem to still exist? (correct me if I'm wrong)
But most of what I found interesting in ed2k is no more. It takes time, is flooded with fakes, and not always you can complete a dl. IMO now its only good for an album or two if you're lucky.
Totally agree with VillageShaman :(
On emule you can find everything, but it is very slow.
I like Emule, because i find old/rare things. But i <3 Bittorrent :D
me too
Because or rarity is good but speed oh my god :)
eMule isn't so slow. There is people with few neurons who just know torrents or limewire and nothing about eMule, but those same people use eMule when they don't find anything in your f * ing torrent and then they say "eMule is a crap". eMule works with many downloads and not with one or two files like torrent. With eMule I have all files and good speed, so bittorrent and privates trackers can kiss my hairy ass.

I only use emule for musics and for old and rare things,
I Think...
This writed to poster sux! :)
bullshit!
i found so much rare stuff there that i couldnt find enywhere else, and i still do today..
emule rocks :)
Emule is great..no ratio to worry about, only your own concience. Amazingly wide selection in everything you can imagine, and the longetivity of the files are incredible. There are divx-rips made 6 years ago that are still out there.
Download speeds are of course much lower than bt, but if you download 12 movies at the same time for a month, you'l never be able to catch up the viewing after a while. I stopped using emule a few months back, and still I have about 700 divx-movies I've yet to watch..
Only reason I stopped using it is that I now mainly go for dvd-r's, and for that emule is too slow for me.
