I was going to add something along those lines. Saying you think a band is overrated doesn't neccessarily mean you hate them just that, maybe, you are "meh" to them and really don't see the fuss. Or you like them but feel everyone is "blowing smoke up their asses".Quote:

the spice girls voices were all digitally enhanced or faked anyway. they couldn't sing for shit. if you ever heard them solo you'd know all they can do is talk on key.
most bands that split up or had a member died at their prime are over-rated. don't quite know why this happens but... tupac? biggie? the beatles? nirvana?
*agrees with Tormentor

Success in pop-world isn't about music anymore, it's about fashion. Talent has little to do with it. More often than not, it's about having a face that fits in the right place at the right time.Quote:

here's an interview with a true musician, please listen out what he gotta say.
Especially the part where he tells thae music nowadays is just cosmetic.. (how the looks is more important than the music).
It's an 2 minute interview with one of my favorite artists that i recently saw perform live in the Netherlands :)
Interview with Willy
Haven't been in here much lately.... but to jump into the discussion the Most overrated band is probably U2. There's alot of other overrated bands too, but at least they don't take artist names like "Bono" and "the Edge." What a bunch of gays...
We are. Thanks.:)Quote:

Most Overrated Band...definately U2...
Most Overrated Artist....Dido...boring, dull, crap singer who happens to write the odd nice little ditty. (Remember...she got her big break only because Eminem wanted to get into her pants!!!!)
Then we agree?Quote:

i don't have any less respect for britney's songwriters & producers than i'd have for, say, burt bacharach or brian wilson (beach boys) or timbaland. or mozart, for that matter. they're all talented composers & band-leaders who used other people to perform their music.
dimebag deral

Me - "Who the fuck is that,IDC ?"
Its Dimebag Darrel you fuckwit

I think the UK Top 40 and the US Top 40 are both a pile of wank.

Can I choose a decade instead?

I'm sure some of the soul/R&B lovers would shoot you for saying that
what with Smokey Robinson, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, etc etc
in the 60's and 70's bands actually played ;)
If i had to choose a decade... it would have to be right now. Music these days are dead.
I heartly disagree. I think music is coming more alive than ever right now, with all that technological innovation brings to it. And even in a classic sense, there are some sweet bands with original sounds like Secret Machines and The Arcade Fire that are turning out brilliant albums.Quote:
