Demonoid, TL and Oink
Started out using Suprnova. Then moved to Elitetorrents.
TD for me, that was like 2 year ago though.
i started out on torrentleech. was the first torrent site i used. that was back when they had open signups :)
I started with 2 good ones: Bitsoup and Torrentit. I'm still an enthusiastic member of Bitsoup. Torrentit R.I.P.:cry1:
suprnova started it all.
then moved to the private ones.
Demoniod to oink then everything came about
started off with TorrentSpy, then TiT and TL.
i started with TD
I started whith TD loool and I also used sometimes public trackers like torrentspy
TB, the original. I did use suprnova some before that, but since i was using ftp sites i did not really get into torrents before TB opened.
I got TL and TD invites from a friend :D
first private was TL
Started with TL, before I've even used a public tracker
mininnova
then demonoid
National: Btuga (while signups were opened)
International: TorrentLeech
Demonoid + TorrentLeech were my first private trackers. Public trackers like isohunt and piratebay at first. Once i heard of private trackers i ditched newsgroups and started begging my friends for invites to private trackers. Im such a begger lol :P
1)mininova
2)Demonoid
3)TL
ThePirateBay
NiMDA (once upon a time) ; a better known tracker: iplay(when i was todally n00b)
first public was suprnova
first private was TL
mininova :)
Suprnova was my introduction to BT.
Torrentspy
When I first started, there weren't any private torrent communities as such (a few scene torrent sites for topsite access, but these were exclusively for filtering the material to torrent sites - I bet the antip2p didn't know of these places).
All the public communities were signup...
So, as for the private communities, these appeared around the start of 2005 (fsc, **-* etc.), and multiplied when more communities started up with no open door system. The reason was the demise of Loki, Torrent Bytes, SuprNova etc. and the feeling that those in power were now waging a war against Bit Torrent (prior to this, it was Kazaa).
Of course, the take down of Elite sealed the fate of the open door tracker, and very few of them exist today. Those that are open door have a restrictive membership, which means you cannot join unless a vacancy exists.
As for private sites, I usually get invited by existing staff, or code my own sites...
i started with demonoid and torrentspy i never know there are other trackers vtill by chance i found fst about 1 year ago
i've been visiting the open sign ups trackers' thread as a guest for almost 8 months then i told my self this site needs you :P
so i confessed my self to give it a try and here i'm a member in one of the most lovely communities ever
thanks fst for making me have all these good friends
