Re: How to improve Tehconnection
i think the freeleech 2x upload was a good move.
i would also like to see a feature in which if you seed for x amount of hours the torrent you're seeding is brought to a 1.0 ratio. smoking in the rain has a similar feature.
currently i've been seeding for over four days on a torrent, and not enough people have downloaded it. so it's less than a 1 ratio.
it probably won't be a big deal once the site gets enough downloaders, but i just thought i'd mention it anyway.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Better decisions please. I uploaded a Terminator Boxset which was deleted for being a "pack", yet the #1 torrent on the site which is a James Bond Pack is still there. -.-

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Improve loading of the pages, like reducing the size of the files (i mean the .php)...

I have to agree with this. There are several packs on the site, but we are unable to upload them...

Blackcats also has a system like this and it's really nice. You don't need to worry about whether a torrent you download will be too niche to seed back.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
I think they seriously need to redo they're style sheets / layout. I hate those drop down menu buttons, much too flashy and inefficient. Once category icons get implemented (soon hopefully, in development see forums) the torrent page will be ok, i dont like the white text on the light background. And the forum needs work.
Call me dumb but i like my trackers to be aesthetically appealing.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
the site design kinda sux! looks as if a kid designed it!
Maybe TC can also have a another category as " free to leech" torrents (like Nordic-T has) ... it would helpful in building a good ratio

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
First off all, the site must reachable from everywhere. Such as I can't reach from Turkey, cause of the ban. I think admins must unban country bans.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
unban IL ips!!
when i try to enter the site:
403

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
i think they should have seed bonus system and 1 or 2 gb upload to start with

Block Italy users I hear they like eating Spaggeti ( WEIRDOS?!@@#( ).

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
I don't understand the hate towards the layout, it's a simplistic and minimalistic design that is functional. The dropdown menu is annoying but you don't necessarily need to use it.
Anyhow, as of now TehConnection does not need any improvement. It's helping the beta users to buffer accounts which is awesome. Now it just has to go public so more people can enjoy it. :)

Gazelle would be nice, but it isn't that important imo.
I'd like to see Packs category, maybe with freeleech.
No more ideas now. We just have to wait. TehConnection will be a really nice tracker, i think :)

Packs are something for general 0-day sites, not for specialized trackers. When I search a movie, I'll search and want to download. I don't want it to be in a pack.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
yea
unblock all countries

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Block banning a country should be the last resort; but it is not.

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Implement https annouces clientwise to emphasize security...this should b a prime measure...like sct did:)
-
Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Disallow the multi-rar files thing please. Should be unrared already ffs.
And recommend to people to include samples and maybe subs and nfos.

lol, we made the "better decision" by deleting it because we follow the rules that are in place. I also gave you the benefit of the doubt and didn't give you a warning for not bothering to read the rules.
As far as the other packs on the site, they were upped before this rule was put into place and we made the "better decision" to keep them on site since they have seeders already. They can die off naturally.
Why is this a hard concept to grasp onto ?

it will be extremely difficult for them to keep a quality standard in terms of content. the tracker is still in beta, but even now you see a lot of low quality rips, dupe uploads, users not seeding their uploads, false descriptions etc. unfortunately a torrent report function is not implemented yet.
it'll be a lot of work to manage that for staff. keep in mind that the tracker is going to have at least 10 times as much users.
half public means there will be a lot of hit and running, cheating, dupe accounts.
they do need staff that is experienced in organizing a huge amount of user uploads and sorts out the badd apples quickly.
the only tracker that achhieved this so far was oink. although oink had different, easier to handle content.
it'll be interesting to see how they develope.
I think the staff has plenty of experience. Just because you don't recognize their nicks doesn't mean they're nubs to staffing ;) As far as uploaded torrents you have atleast 3 current/ex ScT uploaders that are mods and they bring plenty of experience to the table. I really doubt most of the moderating staff at waffles or what.cd had any idea what they were getting themselves into when those sites started. I personally would like someone with a little less expeience that can grow and learn quickly rather than bring someone in who's cocky, thinks they know it all and isn't trainable for a new sites rules etc. Ofc as we grow we will take on more staff and select ones who we think are best qualified to work with the site.

Hi!
I believe more efforts on Full HDDVD/BluRay titles will make it just perfect.

I have extensive experience in regards to staffing a site with lots of "user uploads" and weeding out the bad apples ;)

You guys can +10000000000, but it won't change. Bans are in place for a reason and it's going to stay that way. Sorry guys :pinch:

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
1) New Design.
2) Experienced mods and incentives to upload/download from there.
3) Clean up the accounts that still have 0 Up/ 0 Down - Wasting Space.
4) Close it definitely and give invites to mods / staff members / uploaders / elite users
More than that, it's the users that have to make the difference.

how on earth can they ban AUSTRIA?!
-
Re: How to improve Tehconnection
Redesign the site
Limit the number of users to 50-60k

Re: How to improve Tehconnection
150k userbase is good. That way it will be similar to TL: easy to seed, torrents will be alive for a long time and FAAASSSSTTT!
but, banning Portugal, Austria, Israel, Romania and other countries simply won't do.
ofcourse, moderators - you can fill your tracker with people from the UK, France, Australia, Canada & the US but please don't forget that lamers can be found anywhere. THERE ARE GOOD USERS ANYWHERE.
In Israel for example, the problem is that too many 13 y/o kids get on those networks and make all of us a bad rep. But there are many good users aswell!
I, for example am a contributing member of ANY site I'm on. so are all my friends. SO PLEASE!
(sorry if it's a double post)
