Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Barca win tonite .. 2-1
Messi to score with thierry henry scoring the winner ..
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
henry wont play tonight as i heard :/
but i think barca has enough attack firepower already
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Unlucky boys essien just scored a brilliant goal.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
hehehe
Chelsea out boys, what a night!!
nerve breaking... i think i should have a day off tomorrow.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
That was so unlucky, the referee was like the 12th man for barca. From the 2 games they have played against chelsea, Man Utd must be feeling very confident of winning it now.

what about the red card given to Abidal and the non whistled penalties for Henry & Messi in the first leg match?
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
yea, cinephilla has right, but anyway, chelsea cant blame referee for their missed chances in-game and they can only blame themselves for not beating barca when they have more than good situations like 3vs2 and 2vs1 against barca's defense
chelsea simply didnt take their chances and that was most costly for them, not referee
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
actually, i think the major mistake was to take drogba off with 20 minutes to go.
anyway, i must admit that Chelsea has been impressive and really didn't deserve to loose.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
the only reason why they where playing some offensive in this leg was weaken defense of Barca, and thats where they got over confidence ergo their downfall. even with 2 defenders they couldnt do rat shit.
and please stop talking about ref being on barca's side, if it wasnt for referee abidal wasnt sent off, anybody saw the role playing of drogba after that card? i dont know where was 2nd referee, his face was worth watching when game ended, even worst was ballack chasing referee :hahahhahha: :lol::lol::lol:

Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
The ref was really bad , a shame.
But Hiddink did'nt respect the spirit of the football. He wanted to destroy the Barca and he forgot to play.He did it in front of Liverpool, and i'm sure, without some big mistakes (Reina..), Chelsea was able to lose this match.
Now, Fans of Chelsea, the only thing that you can do :
Go and buy this!
http://photomaniak.com/upload/out.php/i674399_56588.jpg
and I hope that Barcelona will play in Rome, as they played in Madrid.

I would say chelsea penalties were way more clear cut then barca's, even guardiola said he understand why chelsea are mad, that says its all period.

+1 The Abidal red card was uncalled for, but Chelsea should have gotten 2 penalties, imo.

Abidal red card meant nothing so dont know why u lot keep going on about it, its not ike it stopped barca attacking, and its not like he is a ferdinand or vidic that they would miss he so badly. If anything puyol being out the return leg meant more then any red card abidal got.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Maybe chelsea would have had less chances if Abidal played the whole game?

doubt it mate, like i said puyol if anything was the big miss for them not abidal.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
I'm Barca fan and the only penalty for chelsea was Pique's hand on ball, and Abidal's red no way
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
O well now, we have the two best entertaining teams in the final now, should be a great final, looking forward to Ronaldo vs Messi, think messi been missing in the big champions league games (ill let him off for now since he still young and plenty of time to correct that).
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Feel sorry for Abidal. He's going to miss the finale just because of a stupid ref decision.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Of abidal,he just had it coming..he got lucky more than enough.and though in error the red card was still going to be issued had he stayed on...i dunno if its coz i just cant stand chelsea but there just wasn't any clear penalty situation in that game..hence the ref made the right call not to award things he wasnt sure of...
It would have been an insult to soccer had the blues made it through imo..top flight soccer is for top flight FCs with coaches who dont have to always keep worrying about their jobs come the next game!
Abrahimovic ought to get his unsatiable ego tamed lol

U feel sorry for him which i do to, but u cant forget about fletcher for Man Utd noway in a million years should he have been sent off, its pathetic how u cant appeal wrong decisions in Europe, UEFA just like to ruin peoples dreams for doing nothing wrong.

Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
we can just hope that the referee won't spoil the spectacle..

Lets hope not but these finals are usally shit because both teams are always scared of losing the game, the only exception i can make for this was the liverpool ac milan match, where milan were 3-0 up at half time and liverpool managed to make it 3-3 and go on to win on penalties, has to be the best champions league final i ever seen.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Well, yeah, don't expect too much, unless one team manages to score very early. When is the final, btw?

dont you think its because messi has started playing in 1st squad only couple of season ago, last time when time came to play against an "English" team he got injured.

Good if u are a man utd fan but even that was a shit game, one goal scored early by bayren and 2 goals right at the end, everything else in the middle was like any other final. Those Beckham corners sure caused problems.

Man Utd beat barca last season (ps messi played then as well in fact he has played a number of games agint english teams ), barca were not the best team against chelsea, just think they struggle against premier league teams, to physical and quick and strong for them. Barca just wont have enough time to play their game.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
I think this is going to be an epic game. Both teams have proven to be strong and unpredictable.
I still like to see Barca winning but will see :) Let the better win.
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Just one more day left! I'm so nervous :s I really hope united wins! :D
-
Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
Messi has good chance to become first Argentinian who will take award for best striker in any european tournament since Alfredo Di Stefano scored 10 goals for Real Madrid back in season 1957.-1958. :D

Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)

Re: Champions League 08/09 (OFFICIAL THREAD)
I like it when men's egos get tamed..i predict next season we'll have AC milan in the final, the other team am yet to figure out till maybe the transfer window gets rolling.
