you just won't be able to play online because the servers will check for a valid serial number, unless you can find a server that doesn't require serials to play on it.

The problem with Geforce FX cards and Halo is the pixelshader. GFX cards are set to use PS2.0. And as we all know from the HL2 bench, GFX sucks at ps2.0(at least till the new drivers) What you do is go to the properties of the desktop icon and in the target box add -use14 to the end. THis should set Halo to run in PS1.4 which should solve all the probs for the geforce FX's. There is also another way to do this in the actual file, if the command line edit dosnt work. not sure of the details though.

you should also be using the very latest ATI driver release (Catalyst 3.7, PLUS THE CONTROL PANEL which allows you to adjust the direct3d settings and make sure that you've got the AGP setting cranked up to 4x or 8x)... as well as the very latest Microsoft DirectX version from www.microsoft.com/directx/
if you have anisotropic filtering and antialiasing enabled under directx options, you should try fiddling with those and see if turning them down or disabling them helps. also try switching the in-game graphics options on & off, one at a time, and see if any of those fixes it.
it would help if you could post a screen capture so people can see what the graphics problem is, exactly. "no textures" sounds to me like you're just seeing a lot of plain white or grey polygonal shapes without any details-- which might not be what you really intend to say. so that's where a screen capture would be helpful-- press PRNT SCRN while running the game, then close the game, start a paint program like photoshop or MS-paint, create a "new file," paste, and then save.
i only had problems with the pre-release beta version, and thankfully everything looks right with this one... but hopefully some of these suggestions might be useful.
there seems to be a slight prob with the crack as well. when i first got it, it ran fine, actually more than fine. 1024x768 all maxed out, ran like a charm. After i stopped playing for a bit and came back to it, it froze on the startup screen. After launching the game off the cd, i got an error message telling me to go in safe mode. I didnt. I tried launching off the cd again, and it ran perfect, just like the first time.
Seems as though there may be some iffyness (that even a word?) to the crack. However, im not bitching, its still great. better than most.

i'm not only seeing things in black and white, i can see walls and colours, but it doesn't look finished
also, people have no eyes and i cannot see any details on the hologram on the first level...
i've tried turning all the options in graphics on and off, plus changing resolutions, nothing has helped...

Another thing that might be some peoples problem is that the game itself has a fix for the refresh rates, so if you are running another program to do that, it might be causing conflicts with halo. Those getting errors may want to check it out.

yea, my specular is on. wat does it do?
i use radeon 9500 pro.. slick smooth.. max settings. over 40 fps.

hehe, it came with my pc, and I cant upgrade my vid card yet. :(
Besides it plays games that I couldn't play before (halo) so I'm happy fer now. When ya consider I used to have a evga geforce2 32MB vid card, this gforce fx 5200 is MUCH better. :D
oh yeah, i'm running a p4 2.8 ghz and 512mb PC-3200 400MHz RAM.

yea, my old vd card had 11 mbs of memory. lol. it was top of the line 4 years ago. lol. so my gforce fx 5200 on my new pc is much better, and it plays all the games that just came out

I think it puts reflections on objects, although I'm not real sure. Either way I, personally, don't notice a big change in quality with it off.

Thats one of a few definitions, it almost sounds like reflections, so if you turn it off, you probably won't get surfaces reflecting off metal armour / bits of wall etc.

In the NFO file it says to extract and burn the cue but how do I extract it to burn it or mount it on alcohol 120%?

install it, then mount the .cue file on the virtual drive daemon tools creates
mount basically means putting an image on a virtual drive to 'fool' your os into thinking you have the disc
also, the bin would fit onto a cd when you go to burn it, but you don't need to
