Even if you can't post the screen shot, you could look at it and see if the bars were there. <_<

At first I thought this was a racial topic, getting rid of Black BARs. I remember being the only white guy, walking into the neighborhood black bar. Damn, that place went silent in a heart beat. All eyes staring at me. Of course I immediately exited the building. I didn't want to hang around to find out what would happen.

It still seems like your backdrop (WALLPAPER) is not stretched to fit the size of screen that you have, being that your ICONS are in the black zones (black bars sound too racial).

I know, I know, but if he can't post a screenshot then he shouldn't own a computer. My 28.8 modem at work can upload a screenshot in a minute. Reduce the size if needed.

Then your video card may have a problem. Try a different driver or VGA card.

Restart your computer in SAFE MODE and see if the black bars are still there. Generic video drivers are used in that mode.
