my isp is roadrunner
Nothing to do with your ISP, Grabit now charges if you want to search.
Get some NZB files from www.nzbzone.com

Sorry, but as announced we have found it necessary to limit the number of users online at the same time for awhile,
for now we've set this to 800, so seeing this page means we are currently at that limit.
We've had numerous emails already with people thinking they can permanently no longer access, or they need another new account... you don't, as soon as the 'users online' number drops you will get back in.
Contributors to the site, regular posters and those with access to the Indexing beta should be auto excluded from this,
but if you see this page and you are one of these, please contact admins(at)nzbzone.com with your user name and we will check.
If you previously logged out/cleared your cookies and you think you should be able to bypass the user limit, please try to log in on the right, if you are not eligible to bypass it will send you back here, if so, please just wait a little while
Refresh the page on www.nzbzone.com
By the way under Host Name you need to put in a server address.
Refreshing with no luck
ya me either do i need to put in a port or just leave it, also where can i find a server address?
ok i got a NBZ file. But it shows a can not connect. Can someone tell me what to do with the server adress part???
You can also use...
http://www.binsearch.info/
Although someone says I shouldnt post in my own Guide and says its not good enough yet manages to post himself...
i think i got it down besides the server part
You either need to pay to use a server or use your ISP's server. Ring them up or check there website to find out if they offer newsgroups.
From the first post...Quote:

I gotta post a big THANK YOU RealitY for the awesome NewsGroups Guide For GrabIt ... I was downloading from my ISP's NNTP server in no time ..
Wow
just tried this out...and this is just amazing... :o

thanx
For the Dutch members:

;)
sounds sweet ill give it a try :)
So far newsgroups are giving me a headache.
I try using NZB for "Interpol - Evil" and grabit doesn't work. MY DL speed displays an outrageously high number and nothing is downloaded. This happens with every other NZB i've tried to use so far as well.
I use the search function instead, and i see what i need, but when i grab the file, it says "article not found". Bull shit! I just clicked on the fucking thing! How could it not exist?
PS: People can get into the nzbzone site without registering, just go to bugmenot.com
The search function in GrabIt is based on its own server which if I recall has a 30 day retention so it will show all articles available in the last 30 days. This has nothing to do with the actual server your using as most ISP only have a 3 to 5 day retention.Quote:

The fact is ISP service is touchy and even those that have decent access have low retention although you just have to test out a series of different things to find out. Ultimatly though a server like NewsHosting which we have a referral banner up above is the the best way to go...
That's probably it. The file was posted on July 26 and today is Aug 6, too much for the isp. I might just try one of those pay things, just use my poker account to fund it :)
By the way, if anyone here has cox, the retention for binaries is 6 days
Hello. I'm new to GrabIt and I've tried downloading some rar files. Unfortunately, when I notice that they've downloaded as .txt files with the same size. I tried renaming them to .rar files but they still won't open. I assume it didn't really process though it said it did. Can anyone tell me how I get the .rar files? Thanks. :)
Whats the actual size of the text files...
Each text file is about 47mb. I looked more into the problem and it said Grabit probably couldn't decode the message. I've tried several programs that might've been able to, but no real luck.Quote:

Hey guys
This is my first time trying to use this technology and im completing lost. i read the guide/tutorial that was provided (thanks for that). I understand what it is trying to do but what im having a problem with is that it cannot connect to the newsgroup. My ISP is TPG in Australia, i checked that it supported this technology and it did. I believe that i followed the steps but i am still getting the following message.....
"Unable to connect to news. tpg.com.au:119"
Has this happend to anyone else because i really need some support. Please guys help me out, any and all info/support would be great
Thanks
RealitY, thanks for posting your tutorial, I'm thinking off subscriving to a Usenet service and your post answered a lot of the questions I hade!
:)
For user name and password, are you using your own ISP user name / password?Quote:

Thanks alot for this Guide! Much Appreciated! :-)
I can't get my New Addy from my ISP... What sould I do? Im from Chile...
Try calling and asking them although they may not have Usenet access as not all do...Quote:

I tried to download some file with NZB but when the downloading was complete I saw that the files where *.txt and every file 0kb.
What's wrong?
The server your using docesent have enough retention to get the files your trying to grab so theyre not there anymore. If your using your ISP service then its most likely that they have low retention. Make sure your not grabbing something that is to old for your service. If you still have this issue with files that are recent then you may have to look into a payserver to access Usenet service. The best deal around is NewsHosting which we are an affiliate for here at FST and you can support the site by signing up through our banners above. You can also use our referral link at...
