Did you get the same one Mïcrösöül°V³ got?
yeh
I am downloading now going to take like an 1 hour for some reason and i am on cable it is 18% complete. Also am i getting the right one by getting windows xp sp2 2180 RTM.
Im back, it didnt kill me, lol. I think there may be a small issue with norton internet security 2004 (which i have) but it all still works fine. total process took 25 minutes. on reboot it takes you to a blue screen (not BSOD) then boots into windows. one thing i did notice was that the boot screen logo dont say "windows XP Professional", it just said "windows XP". but, so far its fine, ill try kazaa now and see how it is.
kool man i am at 35% and takening forever, wonder why it is so slow? also what does it improve exactly? and why is everyone checking there kazaa?
Kazaa works fine once you tell the built in firewall to shut the hell up. I guess you can turn that off. so far so good. :)
kool i can't wait thanx man
@DarkNess4Ever. The right version is the right version for all users of Windows XP. Once you have the correct 'final' version you can install it on Home/Pro/Corp. with or without SP1.
Because there are tonnes of people downloading it right now. Consider yourself lucky. It took me about a day and a half to get it on eMule. I'm also sharing it right now to help people get it.Quote:

xp sp2 final details
For those of you that dont know already there is a TCP limit built into SP2 in the TCPIP.SYS stack and there is no proper reg fix for this, if you do not apply the fix it may cause issues with applications that open alot of connections, thanks to all involed...
THE FIX CAN BE FOUND AT...
http://www.lvllord.de/4226fix/4226fix-en.htm
I got it from suprnova and everyone else got the same one i have , i think it does meet that criteria
yea, my desktop is a wreck. I use ashampoo power up Xp platinum, not tweak xp, or any others. I like my disaster area, lol :P
I didnt have any problem installing. do i need to use that tcpip patch?
actually, isnt the atapi file for cd rom useage or something? you should make sure you arent running anything like burning software, etc. Oh, im speaking to Darkness
Nothing is running at all could i download the file?
have you tried a reboot, and try installing again? atapi is a type of controller for your hard drives and cd roms, maybe it just needs rebooted. someone else may know more on the subject
I am restarting the setup for sp2 and if it don't install then i will restart ok?
uninstall dameon or alchol 120%
I installed SP2 with alcohol 120 installed, but not running
I did uninstall Dameon tools but how will that help?
it may be using the atapi, and if a process is running, it cant be over written.Quote:

There is something on your PC that is using a resource that needs to be replaced by SP2, so try to reboot, and try again. I think that will help. :)
Well after trying to install again i got the same error i am going to restart real quick
Stupid question, but what does RTM in the filename stand for?
Released To Market...I think. :unsure:Quote:

Released To Manufacturing.
Meaning that they made the service pack available to the PC makers like Dell, Compaq etc...
Or maybe released to manufacturing of the CD.
Btw. I just added download links to the first post of this thread. I will add more as they become available. If anyone finds direct download links please post about them. Thanks.
has anyone noticed that the start up logo dont say "windows Xp professional" anymore? it just says windows XP. is it just me?
Wish mine would hurry and finsh installing, it is on performing clean-up now. how much more to go?
I have finshed and it seems to work great, i did notice that windows xp pro change to just windows xp, and i have some questions about sp2. One is should i enable the windows firewall? and also it said no antivirus software what can i do about that?
