The reCAPTCHA wasn't entered correctly. Go back and try it again.
need valid email?
can you type? sample?
i have already gave yous a hint in another thread.
lets try not to crap this one with BCG signup problems, because they will just get deleted, or piss the staff off.
BCG should go down one level. semi-open signups = about 3000 new members a month
just out of curiosity, how many members a month, would make us go down 3 lvls.
I bet this is one of the first times a sysop of a tracker has wanted to go down lvls in this so openly lol
stoi, you give me the giggles..
hehehehehe
thanxxxxxxxxxx
SceneFZ[6] should drop to level 1 as it has open signups from 15-20 April.
Stoi why are you so interested in what level BCG is. Most tracker owners couldn't care less if they were level 10 or level 1. So why do you care so much? Does it matter what level you guys are?
Dropped to lvl 3, its a start i suppose lol
well no offence, but i want us to go down, because its totaly wrong and not needed.
but you will never get rid of it, so this is the next best thing imo.
more lvl = higher price members can get for an account/invite is the main thing.
you may not allow selling on here, but this list does dictate prices at other places :(
but listen to SgtMajor, he said it a lot better than i did lol
Because it's quoted on ebay sales as being a "level xx" tracker, whereas level 1 or 2 trackers never get sold on ebay, hence the interest in it being at the lowest level possible he can make it. You could say he is looking out for his tracker and his members.
Look at other trackers and their invites have been removed, this is an alternative method to prevent undesirables (and by that not just users) buying an account at BCG and hopefully killing off any further ebay and such like sales, and decreasing the publicity once it all settles down.
Have to disagree. Popped on to ebay and Demonoid (right now) and funfile (finished yesterday) are offered on ebay.
I always wonder why site admins dont run a 'sting'. Sell as many accounts as they can for a month, delete them on a set date and ban IP's. This would generate cash for the sites, allow sites to ban the IP's of invite buyers, act as a serious deterrent to those who are tempted to buy invites in the future and it would be really funny listening to the whining!
well for a start, its wrong to make cash that way, and if the site was found out it would be blacklisted by other trackers.
but demonoid is an invite, they are closed to open signups, and its about $8 the one i seen.
Funfile i have no idea about.
the point is though, even demonoid you cant get in without an invite, BCG you dont even need an invite to get in.
lol, give the money to charity and share the IP's then. Make it common knowledge that this is being done with the sole intention of catching invite buyers and will anyone be upset? Even the possibility will put some people off.
How about a note on the first page saying that some trackers open signups automatically when an existing account is disabled : snowtigers and xbox-sky are examples with no invites available. TheBox is an example of this, but where invites are available and it might not open up.
well how long do you think our account will last on ebay if we done that though, for 10 sales maybe.
and i think you have got the wrong end of the stick here.
Its not the gullible buyers we want to ban, they probably dont know better (most of them anyway) its the sellers we want to get. so your scheme wont catch those anyway.
and we dont work like that anyway, even if 0 accounts are pruned for 30 days, we will still take in between 3,000 and 15,000 members (just depends how we are feeling day to day on how many we take in that day/week/month)
EDIT: and if you think a few trackers selling accounts, and then benning the buyers will stop this practice, it wont, there will always be people to sell them and people to buy them.
Why? Are you going to advertise that you are the staff of a tracker? Give people fair warning that trackers are always on the lookout for accounts /invites that have been sold. Hence the one month part I mentioned, get the positive feedback and continue doing it. Unlike the invite sellers the tracker owners do have the legal right to dispose of invites as they see fit, so no problems with ebay on that score. Why tell them they were disabled for buying the invite anyway?
You could also do this on the many sites that allow invites to be sold as well, not just ebay, so you would catch even more. Yes, you will eventually be banned from their sites but the lesson will have been seen (and will be remembered) by members of the invite selling site.
Gullible buyers? I dont think so. I dont know the cash values of sites except on ebay, where I laugh at people paying money for demonoid, and the $100 that you posted on FST for a BC account/invite. You can rest assured that if I was paying this kind of money I would damn well know all I could about the site. If invite buyers are on an invite selling site then is there any chance that they are gullible?
If you are in any way familiar with the torrent world then you know that buying invites is as big a 'crime' as ratio cheating. Yes, there may be a few who manage to type a torrent site name into ebay at random (I am kidding here) and decide to bid, but most people who buy invites would know what they are buying and have made a rational choice to purchase the invite. This applies even more to the torrent sites with a higher cash worth.
Sorry stoi you seem to think I am talking about BC in all this but I am not as you are now open signups. This is for trackers that remain invite only.
As I am already in BC, I dont care what you do with invites or signups (except in the lower security sense that being open for anyone to signup entails). I am only concerned that you dont start the semi-random disabling that HDBits seem to be doing!
I did make this point, but I had hoped you would infer that what I suggested would act as a strong deterrent by targeting the people you can easily catch. Difficult to catch the sellers, but an awful lot easier to get at the potential buyers.
ok, we put on 30 accounts on ebay for sale, we sell them, disbale them and their IP and contact other sites about this. they then disable them.
we get bad feedback, ebay and paypal look into it, its fraud, because we are not giving them what they asked for, at the least, paypal and ebay close our accounts. and the sellers keep on selling and the buyers keep on buying anyway.
so we may catch 10-100 in a the first month, but after that we are screwed .
and we will only be disabling those that deserve to be disabled.
dupe accounts, cheaters, traders/sellers if we still do get any.
and in all honesty, its easier just to do this that do what your suggesting lol
BT-Arg to level 2. Invites available to PU's which only requires 20gb upload. Also there is no demand for it.
I now think that something to indicate how invites are gained for a tracker would be very useful. As would some indication of the demand for it.
Off topic reply to stoi:
I am not suggesting anything. When I posted it was about a thought I had. I never suggested you (as a representative of BC) should act upon it, although you seem to think I was talking about BlackCats for some reason.
The only reason I even replied was that you rubbished the idea as if I was addressing it to you, and gave some weak objections that I refuted and am going to continue to refute here.
Try to imagine I am not talking about BC but another site. Your way would be a stupid way to go about it for ebay. Offer one or two per month, rotate it among half a dozen people and you could easily catch 100 a year.
Do the same thing with the invite sites, act in an intelligent fashion not in some way that is going to draw attention to you.
Again, why? You make it clear that these are invites you are selling and you are not responsible for anything except the invites. You are not giving them anything except an invite to a hypothetical torrent site, you dont promise them anything more than that and once they have signed up to the site they have 'used' their invite for the sole purpose for what it was intended. You are not responsible, in perpetuity, for the account they create from the invite. All perfectly legal from a contractual point of view.
If you were in any way worried about the fraud aspect then be sure to notify the invite purchaser on Ebay that you are not responsible for the actions of any third party and that the hypothetical torrent site in no way endorses or supports the sale of invites to their site.
Bad feedback point already addressed.
You maybe, but if it was the hypothetical torrent site with people who had thought it through then I see them catching a lot more. Even if you did it your way, would catching 100 invite buyers not be good enough? Post it on sites like FST and people would be a lot more wary of buying invites to a tracker especially if you said that you had some more people running the 'sting'.
Two points here.
It seems you still think I am talking about BC, even though I already said I was not; and that I am suggesting that you adopt this, I am not.
Easier? Yes it is easier for a site with open signups, but would your method be effective in any way for a site that is invite only that has a problem with invite sellers? This is what I was talking about.
Do I think any site will do this? No. Do I care? No.
well i was replying to trackers in general not just BCG. (to the invite selling anyway) which will never happen, or i dont think it will, some may already be doing it, but if they are, im unaware of it taking place.
but what if all trackers done it our way, no invites and opened up for so many at a time. obviously ours is very excessive atm, its already out so 5 every 15 minutes.
but what if they done 1 every year, (but didnt tell anyone) they are still open to an extent, so they would all have to drop lvls in this silly thread, and invites, accounts wouldnt be for sale.
and im not saying that will ever happen either, but its a possibility.
BitVault[6] should be [9]/[10]..
it has the best pre times for italian content, speeds are very reasonable, and the content is awesome for Italian
ScT must go up becouse very much requests...
SCT will not go up unless they (staff) close the invite system or change it.
ScT is over rated.
^^ In content or level?
Current: XtremeZone[6]
New: XtremeZone[8]
I would like to suggest XZ to have at least [8], and i don't need to give reasons, they're all on the images of the updated review that i made.
About the level? We can only register by invite, but i don't care anyway since i already have it :P
Well done HDR
I would like to suggest that KaraGarga[9] go to KaraGarga[10]. They have over 38000 torrents and most of it is exclusive to the site and cant be found anywhere else. Its just a fantastic resource for rare movie content.
TL should stay at level 3 IMO
Site admins don't do that because when it comes time to be indicted for copyright infringement by their respective government, it looks very, very bad to have sold access to a site that delivers pirated material, even if you did it to protect the half-assed morality that condemns selling invites in the first place.
