I meant to say that too, obviously.

Thanks so much guys
Raven's here. It's lovely.
3 words. Pics, pics pics.
OK so I am up and running on my new baby. I don't know what I did but my transfer speeds are better than ever. I'll usually transfer files from one disk to another at around 80MB/s or so but I'm up over 110 now. I did get some new cables ( SATAIII )do you guys think that would affect it? I got them because they were round and would look better sleeved but it looks like they're working out well :)

And so I bought 2 as an Xmas present from the missus. Thanks hun ;) I know she will torture me and not let me have them until Xmas. But hey they're on he way :)
Gonna RAID 'em?
I may get a pair of the 30GB to do just that.
Storage I've got out the ying-yang, speed is what I'm after.
Oh yeah I'm gonna raid em. Clcok what are your transfer speeds at? Going hdd to hdd(large file transfer) Any idea what is normal?
Well, let's see...
OK, just transferred a 2.2 GB .avi file from one drive to another.
Transfer rate started out at @125 mb/s and then settled down to @ 105mb/s, so basically, just about the same as you.
I'll go out on a limb and say that's "normal".
not normal for me at all. I am plagued by slow speeds in the 60-80 mb/s range for as long as i can remember. i don't recall doing anything differently. :idunno:
Fine then.
We can call 60-80 mb/s "normal" and 100mb/s "Blazing fast, OMG!", if you'd like.
It does have a certain ring to it, don't you think?
