Evidently I am able to download torrents from Demonoid without even logging in. :huh:

I was in their IRC because I can't seem to recover my account. While waiting help of any sort, someone in an entirely different conversation posted a link to a torrent. Bored and curious, I clicked it and was able to view it. I thought that was a bit odd, so I clicked 'download torrent' and I was able to. After canceling out of that, I tried searching what I was looking for, found it, downloaded it, and uTorrent is currently downloading the tv season I thought I was unable to obtain.

I have confirmed I am not logged in and the prompt is still at the top. :idunno:

You need an account to download from Demonoid now?

Just a guess, but every time I download something from Demonoid I find that it is being seeded from multiple sites. Is it possible that you are logged into one of the locations that it is seeded from?

I am interested to see what other, more intimately involved, technical, BT users (such as anon) will have as an explanation.

Demonoid is categorized as semi-private. I've downloaded from there in the past without having a membership as well. If you want to record your stats with the tracker then you'd need a membership. But that tracker has a really hard time keeping stats properly.

yes and the stasut update sometime could take upto 24hours

This is true, they only update once a day. And you'll be lucky if it updates anything at all. You have to log in from the ip you snatch from in order to properly capture everything. A nightmare for seedbox usersers.

Why would anyone give a fuck about stats? Stats are more for the site than the user. No login = no seeding. :yahoo:

Nope. The only other trackers I have accounts with are FTN and SCC. Any other accounts I abandoned years ago.

I think I've found a tracker mulder won't get banned from. :sneaky:
