I was one of the last ones to be seen. I watched at least 40 people go before me. I was quite gutted when she only gave me 4 minutes of her time :snooty:

Best performance I ever saw in Court was a lorry driver (self employed) who didn't have a tax disc on his wagon.

He waited all day, got in the box and represented himself. He apologised for what he had done, explained that cash flow had been really tight and that he simply couldn't afford one until he did a couple of jobs without it. He apologised again for all the bother he had caused and said that he had bought the disc a.s.a.p. and promised he wouldn't do it again.

The Sheriff asked "Have you lost a days work by being here?"

The man replied that he had.

The Sheriff said "Well that seems like a harsh enough fine to me" and sent him on his way. He didn't even give him a flea in his ear. Just said, don't let me see you here again. The man replied that he certainly wouldn't be back and went on his way.

I tried to tell you, the Sheriff is God in their Court. The only way to get anything out of them is to play their game.
