Re: Ever heard of a Nightwatchman?
of course- what if he fits bo's definition of a burgler? I don't want to face some hopped up burgler with a gun while unarmed do I?

Fair point, you can face the "hopped up burglar" holding a gun, with you holding a big stick with a knife on the end.
That'll calm things down.
Re: Ever heard of a Nightwatchman?
I never said that I would use such a weapon for that purpose, and that I could not justify buying such a weapon.

I'm confused now. What actually is your position.

I'm gonna tell him to get the fuck out of there and if he advances, I am going to fear that he is going to attack me and respond accordingly.
You must understand that apparently in bratland when folks burgle homes there is a sign on their back and a recorded message playing over and over thru their mp3 player speakers (also stolen) saying, "I'm only 'ere ta burgle."
We don't have such luxuries ova here.
Burglars ova in these parts tend to be offended of such a one-dimensional title. Without even a bother they like the rapist/murderer title also.
Re: Ever heard of a Nightwatchman?
If they dont show up at your house Im sure you could find some of these scums around to have at it with...

It's an adjective meaning exceeding a normal, usual, reasonable, or proper limit.

I stated earlyer that I have handled the weapon that the video that started this myth was demenstrating, and while it is kinda cool, and would be cool to have, it isn't very far up my to buy list becuase I don't really have a use for it. therefore, if some drug crazed lunitic with a gun invited himself into my house unannounced, I would not be meeting him with the nightwatchman. my point was that I would be holding a much more effective and practical weapon.
