I decided to fire it up just to post this. :lol:

Compaq 28.8 PCMCIA Fax Modem. (dead :angry: ) So i connected an external 28.8 modem to the serial port. o:)

It came with MS-DOS 6, Microsoft Windows 3.1, Lotus Organizer, TabWorks, Compaq Learning Center. But I have updated it to Windows 95B and office 97.

It was bit tricky to updrade to windows 95 and such as there is no CDROM drive. I had to transfer the setup files (cab files) though a laplink cable connecter to my Pentium 133 at the time.

This laptop was given to me from someone who had asked me to help him upgrade his 486DX2 66mhz desktop PC. :lol:

The hinge that is supposed to hold the screen at an angle no longer holds anything. I need a large book behind it to hold it up.

I also have an Atari 800 PC with 48k ram that still works but I cant post with that one. :( :lol: :ermm:

my first pc was a amd 350mhz with 64mb ram, my uncle still uses his amiga, not sure what specs etc, and he&#39;s hooked up to the net aswell.

i still got my amega 500 and 600
got an atari st and 2600 as well

at my uni house i still have my NES, SNES and N64 all hooked up, the NES n SNES are by far the best consoles ever for game play.

utter crap, cost £1700 at the time...

think me mate had an even worse one than me, p75 i think

another had a 486(think that whatthe numbers where anyway)

My first PC was a 486 DX66 way back in 1993. Had an 8-bit sound blaster card, an obscure grahics card can&#39;t remember what it was that was capable of SVGA graphics :o . T&#39;was a beast of the time with Dos and Win3.11 chugging along, back in the day when Dos loaded first and then u had to type win at the command prompt for windows. Those were the days. It also had for the time a rare 1 Speed CD-Drive&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33;&#33; Jebus, possibly 100mb of hard Disk Memory as well, can&#39;t remember everything about it.

Also came with a full copy of Doom, one of the first pirate versions to hit the UK back in the day. Bought it of some tiny company working out of a London Uni. Ran classics such as the afore mentioned Doom, commander keen, 7th Guest and other classics. I loved that little beast.........

I can still remeber those good old sound blaster cards. I own A PCI128 Sound blaster myself. Once you heard SoundBlaster You never go back........ :lol:

just bin rumaging through the garage and found this baby. the very first laptop i ever saw&#33; my dad gave it to me&#33;

check this out, when pushed to its limits it could run duke nukem in dos. superb&#33;

it is 3 inches thick and you need a forklift to carry it. LMAO&#33;

and once you&#39;ve heard it processed through several amps, all for just one channel of sound per amp then going tio sum loveley big speakers

:) Yes still got one too &#33;&#33;
It made computing really accessible to the masses and games were graphically not great but big fun (Tetris was 1st here )I spend a lot of time playing a space-shooter called Elite.

It&#39;s now collecting dust but maybe ...one of these days...
