http://www.torrentreactor.net/ is like one of the first that started all torrenting (influenced many) it is the widest public archieve, but it had alot of fake files and some virus/trojans and still there are many torrents there considered as bad and they still cant control it. At a public tracker things can that happen.

Demonoid on the other hand always pass protected and it gives almost same huge archive but mostly bad torrents have been eliminated (refined). Yes even demonoids some files can carry trojan/virus data but when it gets users attention such as by commenting they erase that file from the archive. So its little bit more secure than public http://www.torrentreactor.net/ site. That is why Demonoid, was also a King like torrentreactor.
