it's used as a way to explain a force called "centripetal force"
centripetal force does exist, however, centrifugal doesn't

None the less, centrifugal force is opposite to the centripetal force and centrifugal force is what happens to a M203 round. It spins and it's inside mechanism moves outward(a force whose direction is from a center). opposite to the centripetal force, drawing a rotating body(203 round) away from the center of rotation, caused by the inertia (spinning) of the body(203 round).
