Could you chaps please indicate if you are downloading other stuff at the same time, or if you are just using the stream.
I assume this will effect the results, if your bandwidth is being split.

Good point JP.
No, not downloading anything at the moment ( just browsing the board, but that hardly matters, does it?)
Very skippy, not downloading anything.
it 'jumps' every second for me after the intro, not buffering.
600k connection, no d/l's, opened in quicktime i dont have winamp, will get it and have another try
Stopped the tests for now - we will try tomorrow again with some additional settings. (friday is always good)
@ Very skippy, not downloading anything.
Depends on your connection - the stream was 64 kbpb - meaning that no 56k users would be able to listen to it. Tomorrow will will test with 56kbps / stereo
Thanks for the feedback so far
Edit: The intro can cause problems we will try it without tomorrow (known problem)
Thanks
  Who ever said that was me?
Yeah, okay... you guys guessed it, guilty as charged.
@ Darker - the intro plays fine, after that it does skip around a lot, and buffers a lot.
EDIT: oops you'd already posted when I said that...
Sorry 512/256 might of helped.
:o That really was you?? :oQuote:

Actually, I think that was more my end; one of the tracks it seems skipped a lot - Far more than I saw in my previous test broadcasts. Some seem to skip a lot more than others for some reason  I'll see which ones seem to skip a lot (in case it is the tracks) - In the meantime, I'll remove the culprit track I was playing so I hope no-one's a really big fan of Queens of the Stone Age ;)
The reason I never said anything before was because when I did the stream, I didn't know Darker was gonna saying that it was on (It seemed to be a private test to test if NikkiD's intro track would work as planned).
And to answer the question, the reason (AFAIK) that the intro quality is better than the stream is because the intro track is directly on the server and is at a higher bit rate. The stream was coming from my computer to the server to the head to you guys - That and I was limiting the bit rate to 56kbps constant to save the buffer problems we had @ 192kbps.
I wouldn't put my hopes up on Darker's servers having even the capacity to have all our music on the server for our shows, so for now I think its a grin-and-bear-it issue :(
Stick in there, don't be despondent, it's early doors chaps.
This will get sorted out, there is the will and the technical knowledge.
