Why is it so necessary to support a group of people in the name of god , i know the other sect of people are like way beyond stupid . That could be a reason

What has evil got to do with a god or not a god.
Organised religion is about controlling people, and its easier to control people if there is some omnipresent entity they fear is watching, or who needs appeasing. You could say the concept of god is in itself evil.
