http://www.newegg.com/app/viewproduct.asp?...tion=9700%2Cproum, what does oem mean? is that bad or good? here's what i mean, all the cheap 9700 pro cards on newegg say oem :
9700Pro is better then the 5900SE, but is also $40 more. If you have the money to spend go for it. If you dont want to spend a ton the 5900SE is a great card.
that's not bad at all. i'm guessing it's directx9.0 opengl2.0 100% compatible? if it is, i'm sold. ati cards are a bit expensive, but they are damn good. but i've heard bad stuff about the fx series, especially the 5900 ones. is it worth it?Quote:

OEM means nothing bad.
okay then, i guess i'm sold, i'm going with the ati because of it's power. it's like 199.99 on newegg, let's hope they ship to canada. if not, then 5900 will have to do. thanks for the great tips guys, especially on the video cards. does the 5900 require 8x agp?
Yes and no, it can use it but can also run at 4X. Which card are you getting for $200?
of course they ship ATI to Canada, those cards are made there, and the 5900 doesnt require a 8x AGP but if you have it is better... :)
9700 pro, well not really 200, it's more like 200+taxes+s&h that is if they ship to canada. if not, i can head over to a local comp store and check out their prices for the radeon 9700 pro, if it's within a limit of 250 bucks, i'll buy it, if not, 5900. so the mobo i chose is agp8x, that's a relief!
Link That is a direct link to the 9700Pro. It is $220.
