216-5 at tea.
Could have done with another wicket before tea. The match is still in England's favour but Ponting is playing an outstanding innings. If he goes shortly after the interval, then I think England will do it.
He hasn't done anything wrong in this innings, also Gilchrist had a nightmare yesterday and a fairly rubbish series this far - but no-one will be calling to give Haddin a go.Quote:

im talking Jones wicket keeper ability sux he should have had warne twice!!
Gilchrist dropped two easy ones as well.
The alternative is Chris Read who is a great keeper but is about as good with the bat as Glenn McGrath. I prefer to stick with Jones - 'cos it's more exciting.

why not go for a extra batsman??
Hoggard at the moment sux and only bowls about 6 overs a innings!! hes a waste!
He has taken a couple of important wickets tho' but I think I'd bring in Tremlett or maybe even Caddick for the next test. Hoggard seems to be struggling after a good winter.Quote:

The run rate's pretty high, are you watching this manker? Are they actually going for it, or do you think they're playing safe...
I'm watching it, it's a bit fuzzy on my TV card but I can see what they're up to.Quote:

The reason that the run rate is high is due to the bowling tactics and field settings, it's encouraging Australia to hit out and, hopefully, make errors.
The attacking field setting leaves gaps for the batsmen to exploit. The batsmen are doing okay at the minute, but Vaughan is reading the situation particularly well.
Clarke just edged thro' the slips off Jones ... between first and third slip.Quote:

Oops, it was between first slip and gully.
Jones the Ball has just uprooted Clarke's off stump :01:
Game is back on, I was starting to think that these two would bat the day out.
Need to get Ponting now.
Now Gillespie is out! Hoggard did a bit of reverse swing and got him lbw with a yorker.
Having 5 main bowlers is teh roka :P
Uh-Oh, is Warne coming in now then? :(
Warne is on, Aus need something like 155 runs for 3 wickets.
ok ffs im going to have to stay up till 3am now ffs
no chance of winning but stil i think aust will hold out for a draw
cricket dominating the papers on teh back page instead of soccer/?
I think Australia will hold out for a draw too :shifty:
I think Australia will win :shifty:

I've put alot of effort into not jinxing them this afternoon, and so has manker, and you've just ruined it!
EDIT: Oh feck, I've been well-and-truly rodded. I'm going home...
 @ Peerzy
Pietersen has just dropped ANOTHER catch.
Only 15 overs in which to get the three remaining wickets
I know, what a nob :(
Jones the Glove just took an outstanding catch. Warne is out!
Bye Shane
Cool. They've cancelled an episode of Friends so that we can watch the end of teh cricket :01:
25 J L Langer
96 M L Hayden
129 D R Martyn
165 S M Katich
182 A C Gilchrist
263 M J Clarke
264 J N Gillespie
340 S K Warne
Getting wickets in this second innings has been like Chinese water torture for the Aussies.
Usually wickets come in clusters but we're really stringing this one out.
Flintoff just bowled an awesome wicket maiden, btw. Beat the bat on 4 occasions.
Fuck how close was that :frusty:
