According to my teachers in swedish I should be using colons, but that doesn't seem right, gheymar.

In all fairness, tho', you use them when denoting plural on (lower case) letters, like s's, and a's, so that has me a bit confused when typing fast and using those one and two letter words/abbreviations.

If your Swedish teachers want you to use your colon then perhaps you should. It's a cultural thing.
