Get mine from bookshops, not really a fan of e-books.
From the library.
That or if I really want to own the books and not have to fool around with the whole borrowing time restraint, I'll either check out ebay or half.com
Can't stand e-books, books are meant to be read in a book! (except comic books ;)Same goes with audio versions.
alt.binaries.ebooks, torrents and file sharing communities like PhrozenFilez
eBookShare is good if your into torrents and FileBook is good if you like direct download links.
Enjoy
i buy them online :)

from barnes & noble
i get all my books from a store called chapters here in canada.
Sometimes search books in online stores, sometime borrow form the library.
Mainly from the website paperbackswap.com. Recycling of books is a good thing. If any of you check out the site and decide to give it a try, please use me as a reference with my nickname there jrbeasley.
Most of the time I buy them online, but sometimes in bookshops or at second hand. Which by the way is great, it's cheap and you get to re-use something that otherwise maybe would've been tossed in the garbage. :coffee:
library and sometimes from trackers
BitMe/DOcs.ro
Usually from any library in Portugal/Spain .. but also use quite a lot Amazon.co.uk .. i really enjoy to have the book .. so i don't like to download books .. only in last resource ..

Bitme & thevault.
bitme and adlibris.com
I usually get them from either amazon or the barnes and noble store at my local mall.
I'm not a big fan of ebooks. Reading books on a monitor just doesn't feel right to me, and those book readers like the amazon kindle are way too expensive at the moment.

Book shops. Reading whole (e-)books on a monitor don't give the same feeling as reading the good ol' paper books.
I usually browse the shelves at Barnes and Noble but buy at amazon ;-)
Amazon is great for books in english, I have also bought from a site called OfertondeLibros.com where they have a lot of Bargain Books.
Local library or bookshops
Library, book shops, or amazon
bookshops and library
anyway, having a book in your hands and browsing it is totally different by scrolling the pages up or down on a .doc or .pdf file.
If you are going to read Ebooks you need to read them in an Ebook format. They mimic a book a lot better than a standard document. It's still not the same thing but it's much closer. I also read on my PDA which means I don't have to stare at a monitor and can lounge like I would with a book.
