lol.
I have just got back, and saw my pm box, invited a few more people. I would ask that instead of posting here, if you have a seedbox, please pm me proof and your email and I will send off an invite to you.

Are you looking for someone that will trade your tracker away as soon as they think they can get something better for it?
From my point of view, Post Count and trading rep doesn't cut it.
of course not. I am talking about people that I know are able to help out lots on the site, or have had past experience as a mod etc on another site. I do not care about rep or postcount. I havent invited a "top member" as of yet.

Re: Rts:running The Scene
I sent PM with proof for my seedbox. But I want to know if it's another general stuff tracker or something special?

Re: Rts:running The Scene
I am interested in the new site of course, PM me if I am deemed worthy of an invite.

Re: Rts:running The Scene

so far theres just speculation and nothing more (which is a gd marketing trick i may add, though it wont attract the ppl that any decent tracker would want to attract).. if u think getting a nice css theme of a free-templates.com site is the recepie for a gd tracker then ur very deluded .....
so to sum: what does this tracker offer (or will offer).. great speeds? how can u (or anyone) guarantee that? .. just cause u get a bunch of users that have seedboxes doesnt mean u ll form a gd site... the most important thing is the community aspect, and by filtering out ppl based on their e-penises ur setting urselves for failure inmo.... furthermore, what type of experience do this tracker owners have to be so certain that it will succeed? their already entering a very bloated market with more than 100 trackers in it each trying to be come the new sct/ftn/whatever.... again, what extra value will this site offer to the end user? a gd design.. i ve seen gorgeus trackers fail miserably cause of bad choices.... gd speeds? noone can guarantee this and if theres no torrents what gd will the speeds do 4 u ;) ?
also this illusion of secrecy and superiority is just a sign of insecurity.. if they were so sure about the success of the tracker, they d be open and frank about it..... not try cheap marketing tricks to lure in the 'gd' users that they think will make their tracker more valuable... sct isnt sct just for its speeds.. it has a strong community vibe and a lot of contributers, knowledgable coders and a gd staff team that has been on it for quite sm time now.... how can a start up compare to that ?
if i ve assumed things that are incorrect then plz do correct me.. cause i m doing exactly what u are.. speculating....
Fair point there, Jaits. It's all just speculation at this point.

Re: Rts:running The Scene
What would you consider a top member exactly?

1. Very active users who are willing to contribute to the site in their own way
2. Friendy:)
3. We're not just looking for people with fast uploads here, we're also looking for people who can contribute. If you have a skill, such as programming, design, forum moderator experience, or other expertise - please mention it. We're trying to build an awesome community as well as torrent tracker here in RTS

Re: Rts:running The Scene
well now that i ve seen it... well i ll let ppl make their own minds about that site and how successful it will be...
i have 2 sites.. the first one started from around 500 ppl who lost a torrent site cause the owner shut it down... those 500 ppl donated to a small team (ex mods as well as a few new ppl with design/coding skills) in order for us to get a server and start a site to replace the old one... so we got a tbdev source, worked on it for a week and opened the site... we already had a community ready so that site was relatevely easy to work with... ppl had strong bonds between them and after a couple of months we had a few k users and a strong community (it was and is invite only all the way through), a lot of uploads, a lot of posts and everyone pretty much visiting everyday to check for new stuff...
after a few months we decided to make a subset of our site into a new site cause the subset was just too large to fit in tp, and so we did... we got the 2k users we had on tp and invited them on tv.. needless to say that site had no userbase (even with 2k users as a startup) cause those were tp users and not tv users.... it took around 5 months for the site to really take off and we stuck with it, working on the community on and on in order for it to selfsustain itself...we had to put in $ of our own pockets to pay the bill in the beginning cause there seem to just not be enough ppl caring about a busines torrent site.... well the story is a bit diff now... tp has 4k useres and tv has 2k users and there are more uploads on tv than tp, more pm's and more posts ;) ... over there they organize gb's in minutes, while on tp some may even still take days despite the larger userbase and more close members... u think we expected that? we already had a site so really even if it failed for us, it was just an experiment....
but now it has its own community (most of the original ppl that got invited got disabled cause of inactivity) and it stands on its own, maybe with an even stronger community than tp (maybe cause of its smaller size or the theme of the tracker- i dont know).... we never expected that, nor could we have predicted it... we did our best to make it work and we were lucky it did... factors to consider is that the site has a unique specialized theme (smt that u cant really say about rst - im not talking about design here) and also uploads u just cant find anywhere else, and also gb's that give a unique touch to the site.... none of these would work for a scene tracker though since there are many of them, gb's isnt really a viable solution since all the material comes from ripping off the scene (other ppls work)....
my point being... having a tracker is much more work than a user can imagine... its not just about coding sm stuff and then getting a few k users in and so on... if u dont have a solid roadmap ahead of u ur bound to fail... also to claim that u ll be the new sct/whatever_site is a big claim that has been done so many times again and again that it aint even funny anymore..... bottom line is that noone can predict that and all u can do is offer the best u can offer to ur users and hope that they will give you their time in return.... being cocky without having any value to offer will just make ppl not want to use ur site ( i mean come on, if u have attitude now what will happen when ur site actually succeeds ;) ).. on the other hand, being noble and patient will take u much further in this game

Yupp, that's a very good point there. And yeah, RTS and SCN is a bit overhyped here but I wouldn't say that they're "cocky". I understand how you can see it that way though. I mean, these admins are trying to recruit members and the best way to do that is to portray a "positive" image for their site.
