I saw a lot of people mentioned low speeds when using proxies in uTorrent - although with HTTP ones only tracker announces should be tunneled, not peer connections (there's a checkbox to do this, but you can't connect to peers via an HTTP proxy anyway).
tapabrata4u, that'll have the side-effect of not reporting your upload and download to the tracker.

yeah i use it that way also, start the download through a proxy setting in utorrent and then stop it, change back to normal settings and download full speed, but not sure if it updates ur ratio on zamunda, cuase ive been downloading that way and it hasnt updated my ratio on zamunda :s weird !

That's the one I'm using. Although I log in via Proxy-BG.info when it's up.

well, what i did was used a proxy in utorrent and disabled the option "use proxy for peer-to-peer connection"...then i simply downloaded..did not change it to "no proxy"...i was getting full speeds...i think it just uses the proxy to connect to the tracker...not sure though...bt had the download been through the proxy server..i dont think i wud hv got a speed of 200+kb/s which i nrmally get...isnt it? and evn if u change it to no proxy and it doesnt report...it wont be a problem coz ur ratio is not going to chnge..n given the circumstances..its better to download without reporting than not being able to download normally...
its not worth the trouble all this proxy shit
either they come back online like a normal site or they will loose all their users...

With uTorrent's proxy settings. It's been explained a few times in this thread already:

Make sure you don't have torrents from other trackers running, some of them may ban you for using a proxy.
mine is working fine, just dont know if this way if it will update my ratio tho :S

well its working for me, but im using a proxy to get to the website and proxy settings in utorrent as well, but i can still download off it and it updates my ratio daily, so i aint complaining.
