members dont usually give invite codes out here, its just I have ... who wants it/trade for it.
So if guests can see these, and want these, then they join up and reply to the thread in question.
Obviously the problem arises when someone just posts a load of codes, its just guests that get in, or make dupe accounts (even though i am pretty sure the dupe accounter was a member here, but not positive.
The weird thing is though, and I have not logged out of here in months, so I may be talking rubbish, I am pretty sure guests get google adwords/ads between posts, members dont, so changing them to members will bring in less cash from advertising (surely).
Yup, I see Usenet banner ads when visiting as a guest. I'm not blocking ads for FST, though. They don't bother me, and a forum as large as this one can certainly use the revenue.Quote:

On the behalf of FST, we apologise to BCG for the sad behaviour of one of our members, and we will try to find solutions so that such situations won't happen again in the future.
There is a FST gag order in effect on this matter. I shall await the press release in the coming hours as The Bad Cop has stated! :D

The issue has finally been solved. It took a little long, but we needed to be absolutely sure who did it, as no one is punished without being 100% proven his guilt.
It happens that the user sakor decided to take all the referrals for himself. When questioned why he had the need to do such a thing, he told me it was his brother, who accidentally did it. Then I insisted, why would his brother do such a thing, and showed him the 10 (ten!) different email accounts he accidentally used to register those referrals. The user then admitted he did it, and was going to give those to his friends in need. You guys take your conclusions...
I know doing this won't turn back the events, and maybe those 10 referrals could have gone to people who would actually use them, and at the same time help BCG. But for those trying to repeat such stunts, keep in mind that sooner or later, they come back to haunt you.
Special thanks to Stoi and Cirno from BCG, the latter giving me so much info it took me around one hour just to decipher it all. And thanks too to Champo101 for not letting this problem go unnoticed and actively helping both communities.
