I had this problem a while ago. Let me guess you are using java jre 1.4X As somebody already posted update your java to 5.0/1.5 and your problem should be solved.
I hope it works
I updated to latest java and that didnt fix the problem :( .
Can anybody explain me what the distibuted database and tracker in azureus 2.3.0.2 are? And the green dot with the number of users? What is all this about, can i use it and what for?

If your torrent don't have "private" tag, Azureus' will use DHT peers.
aaahhh... me uses ABC now, used to use Azureus and never understood that lolQuote:

Every time I use Azureus, it will run for about 2 hours and then my computer will completely disconnect from the internet, I have to restart my router, modem and computer to get to come back, some times that doesn’t even work.
Last time I had to call my ISP and they said somehow my Mac address in my router got messed up. So I stopped using bittorents altogether for about a month and never had a problem, I also updated the firmware for my router (D-link 640).
Well last night I reinstalled Azureus and started downloading/uploading
And with in a ½ hour I was disconnected this happened twice since last night.
Has anybody had this problem and no of solution?
No I have not tried any other bittorent clients, I love Azureus and I want to fix this problem
I had this problem when 2.3.0.0 came out. I reverted back to 2.2.0.2 and the problem went away. You may also try to limit the amount of connections (in the transfer part of the options) to around 200. I recently went up to 2.3.0.2 and I have had no problems, but I kept the # of connections to around 200.
I had a d-link at the time also.
Former D-link user myself ... My DI-604 was nothing but an uber pain in the arse.Quote:

It's not azureus' problem, it's the router's problem, it doesnt like P2P networking. Try searching a forum specifically on your router, maybe you can find more help there.

check here. They usually have all sorts of useful info. This site helped me with my junk linksys router. :)
It is all very well people saying that it is the router's fault, but that doesn't explain everything.
I had similar problems when I used Azureus, although it would stay up for a couple of days rather than hours. Download speeds weren't too good either, but I blamed that on my ISP. When I changed my ISP and upped the speed to 2Mbps I expected things to improve, but they didn't. As soon as I switched to Bitcomet the problems disappeared.
If you actually study what's going on (Tcpview is useful here) you will see that Azureus keeps a LOT more connections, even if they are inactive. I suspect that is the majority of the problem, particularly on cheaper routers with relatively slow processors.
Azureus seems to work well for me -- until I want to turn it off.
Without fail, every time I shut down Azureus, it reboots my computer. It's like someone hit the reset button, or yanked out the power cord and put it back in. I've only seen games have this kind of power over one's machine.
Anyone else?
Cheers,

Since I started this thread My internet connection has shut off 4 times while Azureus was running  :frusty: , I tried lowering the number of torrent connections to as low as 150 and that did not help. So I think it my be my router I think its getting over loaded, its about 2 ½ years old so it may be time to get a new and better one.
I’m using bitTorrent client right now to see how my router will react to that. We will see! :ermm:
What version(s) of azureus are considered good. I mean, ones that arent looked at as possible hackable versions.
I wouldn't consider any of them good.
can anyone help me out and not just give me there opinon on azureus?
What do you mean bu 'possible hackable versions'..?Quote:

I thought only 2.0.0.2 or was it 2.2.0.0 was the only version..thats why they made the Stuffer Plugin...to block it & other BT Clients.
THere was a hacked version floating somewhere. It was built from a beta version of Azureus.. RIght now, the newest version of Azureus is fine. It isnt hack yet (As far as i know) and it works smoothly.. Great in my opinion. ;)
I hope you are not asking for help with leeching?!?!?!?
I'm NOT asking for help with leeching....
I really like the azzureus client and i just dont want to use a version of one that is frowned apon/banned by sites.
I recently upgraded (maybe a mistake) to version 2.03.04.
Anyway, I am not downloading anything, just seeding atm but azureus is showing a steady download of around 39 B/s.
Is this normal in the new version for some reason or do I have a bit of a problem?
It doesn't do that for me
And I have the same version.
Think I'd be concerned as well, have you checked your firewall to see if you really have stuff coming in?Quote:

Thats what I think this is, I also have the samething...since the Swarm Tab is always updating...it has to be that.
I wonder if you are right? Do you have a source for this so I can read up on it a bit, cos I find it a little worrying until I am sure.
btw...
I am runing emule too, but that is usually ok.
I just ran a spybot/adaware scan and neither came up with anything at all…
The system runs daily virus scans and is up to date….
My bandwidth meter with both clients off and no browser open is showing between 120 and 700 B/s is that normal? I have not been paying attention. :blushing:
I looked when it 1st cameout but decided thats what it was, but you can look through HERE and see if you find anything...you don't have to join to read.
Thanks I will :)
I had the same kind of problem and I switched to ABC...
I think that that trafic is made for protocol, u should check statistics->transfers so u can see there what is the trafic made for...
yeah it could be a total of all the network (DHT) overhead, ACKs from uploads and range requests plus all the swarm data
EDIT: at less then ½KB i wouldn't sweat it though
Actually, now it does exactly the same thing.Quote:

Same thing happens to me and for sure to all who has one of the last two versions of azureus. I'm sure it's totally normal! Another thing is for sure too.. it's not ACKs because they are not over IP. I mean ACK is a protocol that translates an IP to a MAC and no uploader needs to know your MAC :) It is only used on Ethernet(LAN).
You took the labels off, so I don't know what ranges on the fluctuations are, but I had a similar problem. Mine would drop down to almost zero, then spike, then drop back. It started up when I moved, so I suspected my service was the problem. Turned out to be the cable modem they had leased to me. In essence it was a piece of crap. I got a new motorola surfboard and the problem went away instantly.
Of course, in my case that plot in Azureus was the best way I had of visualizing the problem, but it hit my speeds in other things too. Most notably online games. I would be playing WC3 or something and suddenly get dropped. So if anything leads you to believe that it's not just BT that's getting those wierd spikes and drop offs, you might want to look into that.
What advantages does Azureus have over other clients? I read a lot about Azureus causing trouble for people and torrent sites.
Hi all, I'm new here. Glad I found this site. There's tons of great information here.
Sorry if this has been posted before but I did a search and could'nt find anything on it. I recently downloaded Azureus and love the program but my files won't download automatically. They stay in que until I set them to force download. Is there a way I can set it up so that it will keep a certain number of files loading at all times? Any help would be much appreciated.
