There is absolutely no doubt that Ian McShane steals the show throughout the entire series, Swearengen is a character you love to follow. His historical counterpart was actually more ruthless and less likeable than they portrayed here, but I'd argue that was a great direction for the show, since every other criminally oriented "pillar" is pretty much a vile dick.
I think Olyphant does a much better job in Justified, his character in Deadwood seems to be too static. Interesting note, after Seth Bullock's multiple positions in the Black Hills area, he goes off to join Roosevelt's Rough Riders, and eventually becomes a U.S. Marshal. Natural progression for Olyphant don't you think?
I've been doing some active comparisons between Deadwood and Shakespeare with a particular goal in mind. It would make a great part of a college course to tie Shakespearean style entertainment to modern theatrics. Deadwood would seem to be the strongest anchor. This course idea is more for my wife to implement sometime in the future, wherever we end up and if we still happen to be together. I think of it as a way to generate more interest and appreciation in Shakespeare. However, the chemist in me is suffering at the notion of developing literary courses since I haven't quite figured out how to make chemistry more interesting to the younger generation.

If only my girl thought like us I would never leave the theater with only her again...
As for amateur porn, I honestly don't know. As all porn to me looks amateurish and I'm not experienced enough in watching it to tell what's what. There's just something about slutty girls getting pounded by big hairy guys that's a huge turn off to me.
I have seen, I don't what you would call it, masturbation porn? Girls alone with themselves. Now that was pretty hot. But for the most part I just stay away from it because nine times out of a ten I'm not going to dig it. I would rather just go to the movies or the beach and stare like a creep at all the little girls. Now that's a good time to me.
@Darth Rings, like Idol mentioned was it a school night that you went? I usually always go on the weekends and no matter what the movie it is the theater is usually packed. It seems even more so with these animated movies.
And if you haven't seen Up yet then give that a download immediately. That and Despicable Me are pretty hilarious.
Re: What is the latest movie you watched and what did you think of it?
I watched both seasons (series/chapters?) of a BBC series called Whitechapel.
Being an effete snob, I am genetically predisposed to British procedurals, sadly, Whitechapel ain't no Prime Suspect (then again, what is?).
The first two series (which are each 3 episodes long) are built on famous Whitechapel murderers...season one is Jack the Ripper, season two, the Krays.
I have no idea where they go with future seasons; seems like a self-limiting concept actually.
The plotting is harebrained and the "procedure" aspect is absurd.
What's oddly compelling is the actors- I swear one of them is a clone of Elijah Woods and another is a Gary Busey relative of some sort.
I think they're the main reason I watched all six hours.
Faced- as I was- with the option of Whitechapel or NCIS...I'd call it a tossup.

Odd they chose the Kray brothers as the second season when they could have used the Jack the Stripper (the Thames nude murders) instead. But then I suppose for authenticity's sake, Jack the Stripper operated in the Westend around Hammersmith rather than the Eastend, but he was a freaky, freaky dude in his own right, and far more creepy than the Krays or their rivals the Richardsons. The Kray's were a criminal gang like many others, and compared to others weren't particularly murderous. They were however the first 'celebrity' gangsters and that reputation has lasted long after their deaths.
I would have chosen Jack the Stripper though because like the original ripper the murders are unsolved and the murders were of between 6 and 8 prostitutes (two victims are possibles, not confirmed). He just killed them in a different way, but I will leave you to research his methodology on that one......

On the other hand I would consider watching The River Why to be a good substitute for Sominex.
Honestly God when I said that I really, really would like to sleep with Amber Heard this was not what I had in mind.

I did do some entry-level reading on Swearengen (Is that not a perfect name for such a character???), and he was a true bastard. One of his many highlights included placing women who took far-from-home jobs as "waitresses" into PERMANENT prostitution positions. :O But, Al, I doooon't like thiiiis job. :P

Alright. I just saw EB give his "blood on the floor" soliloquy, and he knocked it out of the park. The "brother of Daryl and Daryl" has some serious talent when allowed to display it. Foly Huck!

I have decided to go at the same pace as my wife (we watch 1, or 2*, each night), and not burn through them without her. 36 hours of television- no matter how great, is hard enough to fit in with the kids once- never mind twice. :)
Loving each episode, character, setting, and dialog. Amazing.
