Personally I never saw any use for this :swear: smiley, as I don&#39;t think people swear too much on this forum.

Wow, only just came across this thread.

OK, time to own up... :swear: was my idea. It was even me who made the smilie.

I just suggested it as a light-hearted way to reduce the profanity on the board - there is a bit too much in some threads (I&#39;m not naming anybody though). There are kids here, and a lot of adults are offended by excessive profanity too. And it irritates any reasonable-minded person to see

So anyway... the idea of autocensorship has been thrown out, VB was just experimenting with the idea. The swear smilie will remain, however.

I&#39;ll say it plain I wish the bastards dead - we can start with Richard III as Shakespeare is obviously not suitable for polite society.
