I usually donate once, soon after membership, if the site is very important to me, it's my way of telling staff there that I care about the site and showing some appreciation for the effort they put in to make the site available to us.
So I've donated to about 7-8 trackers in total.
Personally I think there is little wisdom in sayings like "Never Pay for FileSharing". I'm more than happy to occasionally donate to a tracker as a way of telling the people who run the site that I appreciate the work it takes to make a site of this or that quality available.
Some sites I would be lost without and it's those that I've donated to.
Contribute when I can for sure... Regularly with my bread and butter sites ;)

I donate to my 2 favourite sites GFT & ITS every month, on other sites I make small donations every now & again when I'm feeling generous

Well, if you don't talk about getting rewards then PTN and What occasionally.
Donated once to FTN though.
They are usually of big amount ranging from 15-25/30 USD.
Of course , If I sit around the table .... I do not pay ?
We have a moral obligation ,to help economically ( if we can )...
