To make this more of a thread than a blog-post, what is the most expensive thing you've broken through carelessness?
Me? I've broken this laptop twice, which makes me a double-idiot.
Not a cunting chance in hell, judging by the hour and a bit spent on the phone to them, arguing the toss. Complete con buying extended warrenty then the bits most likely to get broken are not covered, though strangely they were before. Also a complete con that a pin breaks and they cant replace just that pin without replacing the motherboard too. Rubbish. Of course they fucking can. Bunch of moneygrabbing shits. They're based in Plymouth so I'm going to go and throw broken laptops through their windows.

I just looked on Google, you can get new pin connectors for £30. There is no need to replace the whole cunting motherboard for £380.
Especially considering this: http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/123115

I sent you that info to your email you chav, and flatmate is happy to do the repair, depending on what damage there is to the laptop.
I think that they don't trust the monkeys they employ to do the repair with fiddly things and just make them replace stuff. I know some people that work up there and they've all got sausage fingers and a bit of a drool.
