Reg cleaners aren't for the squeamish and you should always back up your Registry but ya after my first post in this thread I used Tuneup 2007 's Regcleaner and it forced me to format and reinstall , fucked up some MBR or Boot ini file I could n't recover .
I still swear by them as they correct so many problems after bad installs or just deleting a program "you" choose to delete . Or if like me who try's so many software programs and hate to leave a trace or reg key from blacklisted software . Armadillo spyware is a real biatch .
I always liked the free one from Regcleaner by Julio . RegCleaner 4.3.0.780 (last freeware version)

I've only tried tune up utilities, but its good IMO.
