Started with public trackers: Isohunt, Mininova, and then Piratebay.
Just late this year started with private trackers that is open for regestion: ILT, Funfile. I registered for demonoid just before it closed down.:(
My first private tracker was Bitsoup.

The Pirate Bay was my first public tracker. I really got a kick out of how those guys posted the threats they got from American companies on their website.
My first private tracker was Demonoid. That one shutting down led me here...
