Rikki, I would assume you can pm me here? i am new so not wure pm works, any other suggestions? thanks so much.
My intent was not to hijack Slammers thread but trying to respect what is normally proper forum etiquette and not have duplicate threads about the same thing, but as it was thought that I should start a new thread, then I will. My apologies Slammers if it appeared that way. Most forums don't like multiple threads of the same things, so I will post here.
For the others, thanks so much for the advice and suggestions I will check out that link and read more here.
Usenet, I have never used and don't even know what it is. Can anyone point me to information on this? Is it filesharing, and do they do dvd size stuff? I have always heard of Usenet but never ventured that way thinking it was another way of chat and that type of thing...guess I was wrong.
My intention was not to request invites, tho I appreciate it Rikki, but most forums hate when duplicate threads, or multiple threads about same things are started, so with respect to that, I thought I would post my requests for help and advice in an already established thread about helping someone new to it, and that is basically what I am, the same, new to it. So thanks to Slammers and my original intent was not to request invites, just how one goes about finding folks that will give them if you don't know anyone at all that uses these places.
I am currently dling a couple of Scooby flicks for my daughter, but disappointed that they are divx...i like the full dvd and good quality and to burn it to dvd. Divx and xvid, I have to convert dvd files and even minor may have a little loss of quality....thus my pref for dvd files. And Slammers seemed to prefer dvds also, thus I posted in here.
As far as an ass, I don't think I will be one..I am a member at a fan forum amd AVSforum(the only 2 forums i post regularly in) and am not one there...So that won't be a problem.
Thanks to all who replied and gave great advice...tim

Re: Help this new kid out looking at my interests, which private trackers should I go
one other question....if anyone is member of SCT...is there a page where you can check periodically to see if they have an open period? then only pages I find is the login page, and most sites have something like a registration page or page that says registration is closed, so that I can go to that page periodically to see if reg is open that day..not sure where to check periodically at SCT..thanks..t

Again, my apologies Slammers..my intent was not to hijack your thread. Usually in most forums it is proper etiquetted not to post multiple threads when they are about the same thing or very closely related. That is why I posted in this thread as I am basically in the same boat as you..new to all this.
If the folks here don;t have a problem with another thread asking some of the same stuff, I will start a new thread. Most of what you asked I would have asked in a separate thread plus the other things I added..so just did not want to repeat what you had already asked. So my apologies Slam...t

Re: Help this new kid out looking at my interests, which private trackers should I go
Hey Slammers. I have an alternate email If you want to email me at that with an alternate/old email address you don't use, I can tell you how to go about getting onto a dvd-movie only site...hopefully to help make up for the misunderstanding earlier...t
