if that is your goal get an XT that comes with HL2, like the 9600XT for example
very nice card, within price range, comes with HL2, what more do you want?

Its about pipelines my friend.
9600 Series has 4 Pipelines and is more of a budget/gaming card.
9700 Series has 8 pipelines and is an awesome gaming card..the 9800 and 9700 Series are on the same level...just the 9800 has a higher clock speed!
Go with the 9700Pro for $200.
