The right to bear arms is in the Amerian Constitution. As I understand it this Constitution was drawn up after America became independant from 'England'.

i dont know much about it but i heard the right to bare arms came about because paranoia about an african slave uprising

Look, Mr. Pocket - I really don't know of England's involvement in drawing up your constitution but the last I checked, they aren't standing over the US making them adhere to it.

It may well have been necessary for a citizen to bear arms 230 years ago but really ... this point is about as relevant as my comment about burning witches.
