New Metallica maybe, but old? Hell no!

Any metallica after 'justice', black album (and all others that followed) = overrated, and don't give me crap about how the black album was good. it was not. it was nothign compared to their previous works and is over-sensanatlized by people. I cringe nowadays because people assosciate Metallica with "enter sandman" and "nothing else matters", when I mention songs like "battery", "fade to black" or even "seek and destroy" they raise their eyebrows in a vain attempt to understand the situation, just ridiculous.

oh and a note to some ppl that might have forgotten the name of this thread, it's most overrated bands not bands you don't like

so saying that, I do like nirvana, I do have some coldplay on my computer, and I sure as hell have tellica's discography, but they sure are overrated (exception for metallica on albums before the black album).

Has anyone said The White Stripes?

They've had like 2 or 3 catchy songs.
Now any crap they want to put out (icky thump, that other new one) gets HUGE airtime because people listen to it just because it's a "popular" band. :frusty:


Another one is radiohead. Same thing. They had 2 good songs (creep, iron lung).
The new stuff is CRAP and the radio stations still play it. I don't know anyone who likes their new stuff.

I can see where some say Metallica is overrated. The loss of Jason made that an easy choice.

Anyway, I agree with Green Day. It's really-really overrated if you ask me. As well as most of the "punk-rock" bands.

In Australia that would have to be wolfmother.

I'm saying Metallica since they haven't done anything good since Load/Reload (Yes I know the earlier one was better but SINCE) and even though Nothing else matters is great.

yeah U2's way overrated. i got a tonne of their songs and am deleting them one by one every i hear one lol.
and i somehow don't really like radiohead's music either. i did try hard to like it though, got all their albums and played them back to back for quite some time. after awhile i just gave up lol.

Linkin Park is one of the most overhyped and overrated band for sure.

I wouldn't go as far to say lIMP BIZKITs music is overrated though. It's not revolutionary or anything, but Rollin' is a pretty good driving song, and the Unquestionable Truth EP is actually pretty good rapcore, in a ratm-esqe way

OMG yes! People actually agree with me! Linkin Park is so wildly overrated it's mind-numbing. Their music is decent, but its just as decent or even worse than other rock music that's out there. I remember thinking that I used to like "In the End" but then it got overplayed so much I wanted to take a hammer to any radio I heard playing it.

The other group that sucks beyond compare but was crazy popular is Blink 182. Their music was simple a kid could write it, and what's worse...they couldn't even sing!! Did you ever hear them live? *covers his ears*

All those idiot nu-metal listenings...metal scene was much better before their existence.
