Movavi video converter is an awesome video converter. In fact there is also an option to join videos! One can also convert audio files. A must have, versatile software.

I use VLC media player to convert video format. You have to open the video with VLC and click media -> convert / save. Then choose the format you want and save video.

AVC Any Video Converter is the one I've always gone back to using, just simple to use really.

If the CLI doesn't scare you, there's very little that ffmpeg can't do. Most other soft are basically GUI over ffmpeg anyway.

And yes, long command incantations doesn't qualify as "easy to use".

Xilsoft Video Converter Ultimate (nice batch processing and includes AMD/NV acceleration) - also keygens are easily found

Just try Total video converter.

I normally use some websites which help to convert files but they can't for a large file. Looking for a solution to this.

Convert them locally using any of the multiple programs mentioned in this thread? :P

iVI Pro for Mac to convert video files to view with Apple TV. Small fee on the Apple App store well worth the price.

Any Video Converter from Anvsoft. I also use MakeMKV to convert to .mkv files.

I use VideoProc, it is really fast at encoding.

Best free video converter has to be Handbrake. Paid for and much faster than Handbrake is VideoProc.

Thanks, will check that out. I was never able to get hardware acceleration working on Handbrake.

Edit: unfortunately it couldn't detect any hardware acceleration capabilities, even though Intel's ARK says my processor supports Quick Sync Video. Oh well.

I am using Xilosoft pack. Try it. Its easy to use and best for everyone.

I'm on Linux and find ffmpeg the best and the easiest one. There's a version for Windows as well.

It is also quite easy to automate the process with full control on quality, codecs, etc. once you get used to it with time.

I use HandBrake, which is open source and works pretty good.
