I haven't watched it. I just can't picture Krasinski as a action hero. Maybe it's because I hate The Office.

I usually drink Bushmills Black Bush or Bushmills Single Malt 10-year. A friend of mine owns a liquor store so I can get almost anything at cost. He gave me a bottle of Green Spot Single Pot Still a few months ago. Really nice, but expensive and I guess can be tough to get. I recently have started drinking Vodka again. Kettle One is a great choice, straight or on the rocks.

Well Idol lets see if you have a comment for that!!!, I have lots of friends i have made over the years that work in liquor stores here
Seems i can't get any deals!!! Why!!!!..........
Sounds good MacGyver, but i still prefer this....
Attachment 183509
Blue Label if i feel like being Pistol Pete:whistling:whistling
But for an every day drink, i stick to Crown Royal;), on the golf course it is a mixture of Vodka/Smirnoff's and Perks/T1's/Muscle Relaxants, all with codeine:happy:
Truth, bourbon was never my thing, too sweet.....

Admittingly his face works against him but he did a good job in 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi although the beard definitely helps.
I think the point of the Jack Ryan character though is that he's kind of caught between two worlds.

Middle age version of "my friend's a dealer".

Re: What's on your mind ?
Green Spot good for sipping as is Powers and Redbreast. There are better but then you start getting into lack of availability or serious money.

Amazon paid me $20 to preview the first 3 or 4 episodes a couple months back. Honestly, I think he works in the role. He's not a badass action hero, but mostly in Intelligence and goes to hotspots to investigate his theories. Krasinski 's got talent.

Meg,you're a big Star Wars fan ie homo so I assume you've been anticipating this The Mandalorian show like a tween girl does a Demi Lovato release.
I watched the trailer and amazingly pig Nolte still looks like Nick Nolte only less gross.

Re: What's on your mind ?
FWIW, getting ready to watch Chernobyl - I'm aware it isn't an accurate recollection of Soviet party dynamics, but it should be distracting enough.

Disney has just completely wrecked Star Wars. It was sooo much better when it was a made by a small, private company with inexpensive, yet creative special effects, and that cared more about storytelling and staying true to the characters than producing a profit and spinning off merchandise.
I believe it's unfair that Nick Nolte is expected to be the only homeless man in Hollywood to have to keep working. I say let the poor man sleep in his own vomit and push his shopping cart around in peace!!!

I watched it. It's hard to say it was enjoyable, but it was fascinating, and very well done indeed.

I love anything star wars, so I'm looking forward to it!
Also, being a bit of a Trekkie, I'm looking forward to Picard too.

Re: What's on your mind ?
I was just mirroring/mocking some of the complaints I'd see elsewhere. Disney has really cranked up production, but they are offering what there's a demand for. I enjoy taking my kids to the theater to watch the major releases. The original Star Wars was one of the very first movie-going experiences I had. I believe they were called 'talkies' back then..

Re: What's on your mind ?
I've seen Fan Boys at least twice so I'm not buying for a minute this "I like both Star Wars and Star Trek" crap.
Nerds really need to better respect tradition and pick a side to LARP to.
-
Re: What's on your mind ?
Question. What do the title character in the new Picard series and Her Majesty Elizabeth the Second have in common?
Answer. They're both now old queens.

I had to leave the local premier when I became stricken with PCB poisoning as Chewbacca put his ass in the seat next to Solo.
Up until that point, it was a pretty good flick...

What can I say, I've always been a fan of both :idunno:

Re: What's on your mind ?
Given how quickly people grabbed the Mandalorian NZBs yesterday and how many downloads there were, I was curious --- is there a way to see the Top Ten NZB downloads from this site? I would guess it's probably a bunch of Star Wars/Star Trek/Harry Potter movies, but I'd be willing to be surprised...

Think how many TV shows/series would blow any numbers from these movies/series.....
Game of Thrones....Just how many hits from the leaked eps.....
Sopranos....
Breaking Bad......
Sex in the City.....
And lots more that would blow away the ones you posted....Really the real junkies of the ones you posted do want actual Blu ray/4k hard copies with shiny boxes:)
I know from the sites i go to show those facts.....The other stat that would be interesting , but may not work here is what formats/quality are most downloaded??

Re: What's on your mind ?
Well, that's also a function of what is uploaded. Seems that there are quite a few releases that only come in 720p and 1080p these days.
Just grabbed the ION10 release of Man in the High Castle (prefer to waste 4 GB on my NAS rather than 16 GB for the 720p version). But grabbed that one from the one-click hosts because apparently the IOn10 releases don't get posted to the newsgroups? Or if they do, my indexers don't pick them up...

Now the question is... What is a better quality,
The Man in the High Castle S04E01 XviD-ZMNT
The Man in the High Castle S04E01 PROPER 480p x264-mSD
Or the MP4 ION10 version that is also posted on you know where and lots lots more;)
I think we have had the conversation that MP4 is an Mac/Apple format as well.......

MP4 is derived from Apple's work, but it is an open standard. Also, it should be noted that it is a container, not a codec like some people believe. In other words, saying "AVI is a Microsoft format" would make as much sense :turned:

Did i say it was exclusive format/container/compression/and on and on??
My comment Anon was it is recognized and made for efficiency/language for Mac/Apple products, did it exists before there products came out??
I didn't mention Beta-max in my comment did i buddy:D..
Can you play every Microsoft PC game on a Mac?? or vise versa?? Why?? What happens if you bought Microsoft Office for Mac for your PC, will it work??
But the actual saved files??
Are you denying that AVI format was not designed for Microsoft language/format/container/compression/codec, to work with there operating system?? MPEG??
Again I didn't say anything about sharing....And we won't get into AAC vs Pro/Logic/AC3/DD/DTS/Atmos and many others either buddy;)
PS... Really Anon, when Mac/Apple products first came out, did they play every format out of the box out there?? Or did you have to add a a program/codec or whatever you want to call it, for it to work?? That was kind of my point, that's all.....
Can you play Sony exclusive games or Microsoft or Nintendo consoles?? Why??
Edit: And the bigly Anon, where did MKV compression come from, and now one of the bigly standards :D

Re: What's on your mind ?
None of the above is anywhere close to being on my mind so I totally don't get the title of the thread. As for the Disney shit, I'm boycotting it on principle. The principle being I have zero interest in the sort of pap they produce.
That and with Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Apple, Mobil etc I think we already have more than enough evil empires.

Amazing all those evil empires and the employees that invent all of those terrible things you use every day, or that entertain you....
I see no irony in that one bit. Better you should read a book from your E-Reader that you downloaded from the internet for free:blink:

Re: What's on your mind ?
I don't have an e-reader and everyone pays to use the internet. Strike deux, mouton.

So if you go to a public library, you pay for internet, when you go into an Apple store or a Microsoft store you pay for the internet??
When you have a job, and it requires the use of the internet you pay for it?? You go to major cities streets or malls you pay for the internet?? MacDonald's or most restaurants coffee shops ??

Not bad, not bad at all:lol::artist:
But that somebody paying for that free internet is not you!!!, or really is it??
Question for the psyche.. Do you prefer to shop online or actually leaving your house and travel to a store, and maybe actually having to speak to another human face to face??

FWIW, shopping on-line exercises one's thrift, it surely does.
When one lives at the end-of-the-earth, holding that line is more chore-ish.
Don't think I'm doing without, particularly, but.

MKV is also a container format. The streams inside can optionally be compressed with zlib, but the only thing that can benefit from that is subtitles (video and audio are already compressed by their respective codecs) and their size is tiny in the first place, so you never see this done.
