How do you use your own avatar?
Just read here to find out everything about avatars u need to know http://www.klboard.ath.cx/index.php?showtopic=19152 ;)q
So you have to choose one from the webpages?
and not from your computer?
If u want one from your computer it has to be uploaded to a site that host pictures u can find some in that guide. And then once uploaded u just get the URL and place it where it asks for your avatar in "My Controls"

Oh, Ok
Is the reason my avatar is not loading because of it's size? And how would I adjust that? I have also added the suggested &ext=.gif to the end of the hosted address. What's up? Steve/Seattle
http://rue.f2o.org/av/filewasp.gif
is that it? if so the URL needs to be changed to
rue.f2o.org/av/filewasp.gif
Max size for an avatar is 80x80Quote:
7. Signatures and Avatars will be restricted in size and content. Consult rules 2 and 3 for restricted content. Combined file sizes for images used for avatars and in signatures may not exceed 100,000 bytes. Additionally, Signatures may not exceed 495x150 pixels in dimension. Signatures and avatars that do not comply may be removed or edited by a moderator or administator without notification. Avatars can not be uploaded; they must be linked from a web address or picture hosting site. The maximum dimension for an avatar can not exceed 80x80 pixels.
Yep I excluded the &ext= from the end of the address and it loaded no problem. It say's it's 80x45 so I'm well inside the requirements. Yea!
No y<ou said 180x45 :rolleyes:Quote:

The forum software automatically resizes oversized images :)
I right clicked the space where your avatar should be, got the url, followed it, and viewed the picture correctly :P :lol:Quote:

Why do we have rules about sizes if the software will do it anyway? http://smilieworx.com/smilies/scif318.gif http://smilieworx.com/smilies/scif318.gif http://smilieworx.com/smilies/scif318.gif http://smilieworx.com/smilies/scif318.gifQuote:

it just saves file sizes - if you used a 100x100 avatar is still has 10,000 pixels in it, whereas if you used a 80x80 there'd only be 6,400
DarthInsuate: You you optimized my avatar. I clicked on the link in your post and it froze my comp!
Everything seems to be okay now though. I rebooted. Darn 8.4 gig system!

It will only re-size the avatar not the signature image.

I was trying to change my avatar but I get the error message that it's an unacceptable extension, but it's a .jpg. It says on the 'my controls' screen that those are acceptable extensions. Why am I receiving this error?
Also, how can I resize a picture to an acceptable avatar size? For example, 200x200 down to 50x50?
And yes, I've read the FAQ
post the link to the pichttp://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/u/djsmile.gif

Tried copy/paste prior to posting and it didn't work. As far as the size, I need to know how to resize it cause it's 99x99Quote:

no what i meant is if your link adress is too long it wont take it
Just use this
http://galleries.vinyamar.com/ps/sho...2BYZl&ect=.gif
that was has a long adress too but it should work also why can't i see your avatar smith??? its empty space is it me again???http://smilies.sofrayt.com/%5E/2/salook.gif
Some versions of opera dont see it. What you do is right click then click open picture. It will open it then just go back and its there. Hope that helps.
Also the link will fit for the pic.
Agent Smith/Muscleman, thanks for the help. what can I do next time in order to resize the pic myself, or will Kazaa resize it automatically?
Also, do either of you know why it wasnt working to begin with?(it shouldn't have been to long, I haven't counted characters or anything but I think Agent Smiths URL was longer than the original.)
OK, I'll re-phrase; why do we have rules about avatar sizes if the software will automatically re-size them anyway.Quote:

The file size I understand, it's the 80x80 bit that seems superfluous.
