I really don't need the file. I already have it and am sharing it on eMule. I just want to be sure the file is available from the Microsoft site (for the first post of this thread). I have tried 3 times now without success.Quote:

With the patch you can have unlimted tcp connections :)
I got the hack working on my sp2 machine.
ok, ill give it go
yeah go for it! its good if you use file shraing apps like emule etc B)
one more thing, how many of the tcpip file am i replacing? the destructions say possibly 3, but i dont have a folder named C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE. I do have the other 2.
thats weird.
The one which i downlaoded told me to replace only the tcp dll file in system32\drivers and thats what i did.
here is a small excerpt from the destructions from where i got the patch from:
Now restart your computer an press F8 short after the Bios is done and start in securemode (don't know the right translation!).
Then we go into the directory C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS and overwrite the existing TCPIP.SYS with our patched one and the repeat this with the directory C:\WINDOWS\SERVICEPACKFILES\I386 and system dependend eventually with C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DLLCACHE.
i can find that dllcache folderin my system 32 folder...
my folders go from directx to drivers...........no dllcache
i have done a search for dllcache on my pc and it returns no results. you sure that folder/file exists??
heres a link to where i got my patch. see what you think. patch link
dllcache is a hidden folder.
i un-hid my folders and still didnt see it. either way, imma follow the destructions and see what happens. :D
The best way is to unhide hidden and 'protected operating sysytem files'.
I am getting the message during installation:
Just wondering if any of you guys had had a similar problem and how you rectified it?Quote:
Setup cannot copy the file atapi.sys
Ensure that the location specified below is correct, or change it and insert "Windows XP System Files" in the drive you specify.
Copy files from:
c:\windows\system32\drivers (Drop down box)
Many Thanks
Leon
Clicked cancel and selected to continue setup without this file and it worked ok. Any of you know whether i should upodate atapi.sys?? Is this a necessary file??
Do you have dameon tools by any chance? cause if you do that caused your prob

It actually raises the value from 10 to 50 "failed connections", not unlimited...

This is the speed I have been getting consistently since installing SP2 and the TCPIP patch. I just dont fuckin get it?!?! Im happy, dont get me wrong. I am able to finish whole CDs in like 8 minutes, lol.
Just an update, I havent gotten less than 120KB/s no matter how many seeds or peers are on......maybe I'm in the twilight zone........AHH HELL, I like it, and Ill take it while its good. :D

I have this error with SP1 for about 2-3 months! I think it's something to do with a RAID setup or something with my second hard drive.
do you have drives in RAID? if so, then i dont have a clue, as i dont use raid :(

yeah, sure,..........
http://www.lvllord.de/4226fix/4226fix.htm
The new page doesn't have the same instructions that it used to have (ie. start in safe mode, copy/replace files, etc.). It only says to run the patch. According to the site, it's a new patch release, but I'm not sure if you still have to follow the old instructions.
Also, sorry for the ignorance, but will sp2 work for all versions of xp (proffesional, corporate, home)?
TCPIP already patched
you have to boot into safe mode (F8) and replace the old tcpip.sys in 2 folders:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386
THATS WHAT I DID AND IT SEEMS TO BE FINE.
i am hosting the file and it is zipped (.zip)
Let me know if all is well
seems you are correct. they may have adjusted the patch. but none-the-less, it works fine (the one i have) but feel free to try the new one and report back on itQuote:
