Re: FIFA World Cup 2006 - Germany
Is it me or is the level wich this world cup is played really sad.
Hardly any good games. It's all just incident football.
Teams are defensively better then the other way round. It's all about not conceiving any goals. And try with the two chances they create, to outscore the opponent to win. Where did the fun of the game go?
I enjoyed the free kicks from Beckham, van Persie and lads like that, i enjoy the enthusiasm and of the german and aussie team, i enjoyed watching the great penalty safes that the portugal goallie (Ricardo?) made.
The 5 beautifull actions from Zizou, but that's it. After more then 2000 minutes of football played, the highlights of this worldcup is not much more then 15 minutes great plays.
I think someone will win the cup but football in general lost.
Where was the 'samba' football. Where was the football that made the african teams fun to watch? Even the dutch team wasn't fun to watch. The bad refereeing! Why doesn't fifa allow electronic equipment to check and justify important decisions in the game?
Why don't they punish people that perform 'schwalbes' and try to cheat the game by fixing freekicks and penalties or try to talk the referee into giving yellow and red cards? Why don't the game evolve? Why not play 2 times 30 minute of real gameplay. Stop the clock when the ball is out of play!
Well i had little fun till now watching the games. Highlights are more then enough for me next matches :)

The game France Vs Brazil was good!
Portugal vs England was a good match as well. When the African Countries were in we could see a pretty good match as well.

Not for me. I'll find it quite easy to watch. :)

Well i guess you've seen different matches as i did. And i do watch them as a neutral side. I have no favorites in the tournament. So i'm watching and judging as a neutral fan of football.
France did have it's good moments as i mentioned when i named Zidane. But Brazil was a laugh in that game. I try to recall the game but i think there were only 3 really good chances from wich one was a goal and a few opportunities to become a chance. But again highlights of that game 3 minutes the rest was poor.
The England vs Portugal match was a waste of time for the neutral spectator.
They should have gone to the penalty shoot out immediately that would have taken away 118 minutes of sadness. Highlights, 2 minutes at the most and that was because i needed to see the rude kick in the nuts from Rooney twice (to see if it was an accident or on purpose!) and the sad Ronaldo asking for the card and his wink to the bench when he manged to get it.
Most sad part of this is that this game was one of the better matches on this tournament. Wich actually proves my point :)

I'd love to give you props for that one (as we say in da hood). But, it would appear, that post was made 10/14/2005 09:34 AM. AFAIK there are only 12 months in a year not 14, yankboy.
Denied.
