I think you will be just fine with what you have, 7th. Keep your eyes open on Newegg for specials on matching RAM and grab more sticks when they are on sale (if you are tempted), but I had 8GB in my primary system and ended up "stealing" a stick (dropping down to 6GB) and really did not notice any significant losses. I dabble in Photoshop and re-encode an occasional file for personal use and I am quite satisfied. I use a desktop "gadget" that monitors CPU and RAM usage- rarely see either one maxed.
Ultimately, see if your upgrade is doing what you need it to do. If (and I don't expect this to be the case) something is slowing your productivity, then it could be worth upgrading. Right now, you can store nearly a full DVD-R in memory. How often do you expect to need more than that without rendering 3D, or compositing video?
Adobe products work better when the primary drive and scratch disks are on separate physical volumes. Two HDD would be good (I am not sure what you are currently using), but two separate RAIDed drives (4 drives total) would give you a significant increase in reading/writing speed. Drives have gotten quite inexpensive. I have been very happy with WD Caviar Black.

Now, when I need more space I don't by dvds, I buy HDs ;)

Hello guys
If I would buy a SDD disk with my new computer and install windows 7 64 bit - would I be OK with a 40GB or should I buy a 80GB? The only big programs I would install would probably be Adobe Dreamweaver & Photoshop. I have a big HDD for storing my DLs.
My economy isn't that well right now...
