Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
This is actually down to the implementation of EU policies, other EU countries have already passed similar bills years ago. The Swedes just seem to be in a 'shock' atm, since they were used to be a relatively 'safe haven' in these matters. And most importantly, the drastic, plain ridiculous first verdict in the TPB case has caused exactly what the lobby groups intended - unease, fear and sheer panic.
It will go away.

The EU's recent views/laws are taking effect and more proposed to actually put limits on what you can do on the net is freakin shocking and wrong.. that's like telling a fat person they can't only eat 2 carrots and 3 green beans a day ..
Things are changing and it's NOT for the better.. just wait..
Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
SoftMP3 closed down, along with Swebits (the tracker part) this is a sad day for me... :/
Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
Swedvdr's owner has decided to close the tracker in a week after receiving an e-mail from antipiratbyrån. :(
Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
antipiratbyrån??
havn't heard of this one.... but it's not surprising..
Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
There is this lime-green, semi-public tracker with a userbase of a million or more. It's hosted in a country right next to uncle Putin, a country where the international content lobby mafia has yet to win a battle. So for all the Swedish siteops who are worried these days, and think about closing down their trackers, what about moving your servers to this land of milk and honey? Just a thought.
Re: Swedish trackers shuts down
First SweBits, then SoftMP3, now SweDVDR? When will it all end?! These admin are doing exactly what big media wanted, and this is a very sad time for torrenters everywhere...
