Re: Inception (2010) - 9.6/10 (2,090 votes)
Managed to watch this and have to say I was completely mind fucked. The concept was great and the mind fucking was very well done - ie not over done like some of those SciFi's.
I think I might have to watch it again to completely understand it.
Spoiler:
Show
I can see a sequel coming after we see the totem not falling at the end

Like most modern day auteurs Nolan is inspired by greatness but fails to fully achieve it.More said in the scant two stanzas below than ,entertaining as it was, in the entire body of Inception .
Take this kiss upon the brow!
And, in parting from you now,
Thus much let me avow-
You are not wrong, who deem
That my days have been a dream;
Yet if hope has flown away
In a night, or in a day,
In a vision, or in none,
Is it therefore the less gone?
All that we see or seem
Is but a dream within a dream.
I stand amid the roar
Of a surf-tormented shore,
And I hold within my hand
Grains of the golden sand-
How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep,
While I weep- while I weep!
O God! can I not grasp
Them with a tighter clasp?
O God! can I not save
One from the pitiless wave?
Is all that we see or seem
But a dream within a dream?

I love me some old Allan Parsons Project. That's Orson Welles narrating which makes me think of another great(ish) progressive, concept rock album of the time Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds (albeit with Richard Burton as narrator) .

Btw Wayne tried unsuccessfully for a follow up with Spartacus , and although the voice talent was there( Sir Anthony Hopkins , Catherine Zeta-Jones ) it was more fail ( too synthesizer driven?) than win.

And with that the movie and music sections have just merged.
