Why do they leave such a sign up. Is it seen as a reminder of earlier times.
But factions such as the Real IRA and hte Continuity IRA are known to inhabit the area. So I'd guess its also there as a (tasteless) symbol of defiance.
There's also the tourist trade to consider.
