Ok I'll clear it up. You are the only one surprised.

I have learned a lot from the various responses to it.
Sorry, B, this doesn't make any sense-to say that it is "incorrect" and "not very logical" to say that "all the people in individual countries think alike"?Quote:

From this you surmise that I claim a previously undiscovered and undocumentable empathy amongst "all the people in individual countries" amounting to a conspiracy of loathing of the U.S.?
Wouldn't it be simpler to say, as I attempted to, that it might be a bit of a surprise to find someone who had a pro-U.S. view, and held it strongly enough to compel him to submit an editorial stating same to an (apparently) well-respected German publication?
Just to clear up that last, I was not sincerely surprised; I would imagine that the U.S. could easily garner anywhere from 2% to 3% popular support in any number of countries around the world.
I will admit it was a marginal effort at facetiousness, but I assumed you would recognize it for what it was.
My apologies for overestimating you.
Oh, yeah-almost forgot...
You are forgiven. :1eye: Alot of your posts are facetious and very indirect. The problem is I see it and view it as propaganda ridden.Quote:

TBH I think there are many who love the fact that the US is so-called "cleaning" up their backyard. They are going, "Whew, thank goodness we didn't have to fight them."
The article was a good read, especially on the shitter.
Surprised?....I guess if one thinks ALL Germans are anti-Bush then sure.
I logically know that in light of my own country's differing views that Germany is not a "hive mind"......but you weren't really surprised.
I thought the article's responses made for better reading of the article so... great post!!! I previously wouldn't have read it.Quote:

of course we shouldn't have a muslim holiday, indeed we should persecute muslims more, because they are like Hitler in terms of fanaticism. Is that not a surprising view point?
actually, probably not, because we are so used to all the crap we get from ukip and people like Kilroy Silk, and too beefed up on MacD to care much about anything. So, what does that say about us?
lol
