I think this is another sign that things are going in bad direction! They will take down large trackers and then they will prune private trackers one by one. The much we shout we want invite to F***orS***orT*** the more we attract attention to them! Aside from music, Oink was also one of the best places for audiobooks and mac apps. It's going to be hard to find a good replacement.

Well, never used OiNK. The only thing I want to say is: HONESTLY, WHAT HAPPENED TO OiNK IS ALSO FAULT OF THIS FORUM AND OTHER FORUMS! Everybody is trying to get somewhere, trade invites and do other totally unsecure stuff. WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY COPS IS WATCHING US! I hate this whole "rating torrent trackers" thing and people still talking about "high level tracker". Do you understand, that you are just attracting feds attention? Keep the information in confidence and stop talking about trackers, stupid kiddies! You're making it worse and more dangerous for all of us!

I really am dissapointed about this and i feel for the guy that got arrested.. i say that like this cause we don't know for sure yet, if it was the owner.. although i would assume it would be. but i'm of the opinion that as great as it was, they just got way too big.. this has been mentioned previously and i'm not disrespecting the site or the owner. but, it is true.. having a user base that huge puts them at the top of the most wanted list, they have some good company though... Demoniod, The Pirate Bay and whats the other one?? UKNOVA?? anyways, all HUGE sites and as a result all have HUGE targets painted on them.....
it doesn't surpise me that they have been investigated for a long time.. and with all the account trading, and invite give aways(without any reguards or thoughts about events like this) .. that includes myself too, you can probally say to one extent or another somewheres down the line we all helped them take oink down.. something to think about there..
but as big as the site is... i'm sure they will be back up! just as demonoid and pirate bay keep comming back..

I wouldn't sweat it. I think they accomplished what they wanted to do and that is to stop the source. The members are pretty much worthless without the site. Also, there were plenty of users on there that had 10+TB uploaded!Quote:

It's happen again! In my country happen the same with one tracker that was user called btuga, the cops closed and take the donor into custody, I don't now whats happen with him but after a 3 months one new tracker is open again with new server, new name and new staff, exactly the same thing but not with the older releases and the older database.
So people let's have hope then in the future they open again!
This is sad, i just got my oink account for some months. :(
luckaly i still got some 0-day sites.
i just read on a german it news page, that the server in amsterdam was confiscated by dutch authorities last week already?!
